I don't know how much truth there is to the story, but i thought when the Countach was on the drawing board, they actually considered using exploding bolts, ala a space capsule, to free the occupants in case of upsidedowness. By the way, aren't you in Australia? Does that mean this car would look right side up here in North America? I always get confused about this, and about time zones....

I guess that's one of the reasons why the gullwing doors are also very hard to get approved nowadays....
Anyway, i heard as well the story about a plane like canopy....but my guess would be that they could have though of a way to just get rid of the door from inside...but then again...Italy

This is the Lamborghini factory roll over tool, you use it to break out the windshield. The factory kit also contains a cyanide capsule in case of fire and you are trapped along with a do it yourself last will and testament you fill out prior to driving the car.

How about taking some driving lessons before you buy one?

There was a column written in EVO magazine a couple years ago about Valentino Balboni. IIRC, while using Italy's backroads as a test track he ended up upside-down [in a Countach] in a field after avoiding a car pulling out from a side road. I believe it said he escaped by kicking the rear window out.

For ever 1 Lambo that flipped, how many other cars have flipped? Probably less than the ratio for regularly manufacturered cars. Just because we see one on its side doesnt mean anything. When we see one a month on its side then you might wonder. ;)

    Lambo 1:10,000?
    Chevrolet: 1:??????

Maybe the driver was a real estate agent: he didn't buy the car for himself, he just bought it to flip it!

Lamborghini means "click beetle" in Italian.
