????????? http://www.brazilianlists.com/FERRARI_CAMILO.jpg and this strange 275 GTB: http://www.gptotal.com.br/panda/cartas1q_03_04.htm
The GTO (looks like) is the rebody of 250 TR s/n 716 raced in South America. This body is reputed being on 2493GT today
These have been posted before. But here they are in case anyone missed them. I believe they were originally posted by Boudewijn Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This picture was taken in Holland in 1980. The car originally sold through Chinetti to Omar Shariff. It now has normal chrome bumpers instead of the P4-esque flares, but retains that hood scoop.
Here it is in current configuration. It was recently unsold at auction, I guess people aren't into the mods. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Camillo Christophoro owned 0738/TR as well as a highly modified 860 Monza/290MM that was fitted with a 3.0-Liter TR engine in 1958. For many years it was though that this car was 0726/TR (TR58) but this is quietly with a freind in the UK. Regards, Bill Noon
By the way, the Omar Shariff car is one of my old cars. Sold it years ago. I lost track of it until it was offered up by everyone starting last January and ended up at auction. Car is still for sale but not by me. Cheers, Bill
Wow that's ugly. Those headlights make it look inbred. Looks like someone's chevy is missing a windshield. Any there's probably 2 honda motorcycles looking for their rims! : D
I would agree in that current configuration the car is droolable. I too would like to see additional photos. I also think that the Brazilian interpretation went a long way to hack at what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and enduring lines ever created. But also, the Brazilian interpretation is what makes these cars extraordinary. The fact that someone was willing to modify the lines for racing purposes is admirable and I guess the true intent of the car. I like seeing the photos of where the car has been beaten in the pits to make it more functional. (See the attached image where the mechanics have beaten the panel down by the scoop.) Form does follow function. But sometimes the form can be functionaly ugly. : D Image Unavailable, Please Login
This "275" http://www.gptotal.com.br/panda/cartas1q_03_04.htm is not a 275, but the "GTO" 0738TR Take a close look at both pics and you will see. (headlamps, grill, bumperettes)
Here's a picture of s/n 2493 with the body ex 0716 (thanks guys, didn't know this before!). I took it at the recent Modena Motorsport Track Days. Ciao, Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login
