http://www.autocar.co.uk//Car/Ferrari/18551146430.jpg As if Michael Schumacher wasn't having trouble enough this season - now his Ferrari is being turned into a taxi. Our spies spotted this three-seater Ferrari F1 car testing at Fiorano. Unlike McLaren's 1998 two-seater the Ferrari gives punters a clear view
I saw that car in the Cliente area when I attended the F1 test day at Fiorano in April. I'd pay some serious coin to get my wife and I a ride in that thing. Gary
Can you say hotseat...basically sitting right over the cyl heads and exhaust piping...youch. Still, I'd wear some nomex undies and take a ride.
I'd have my wedding ceremony in the car... the preist talking to us through radio, and the people sitting around the track. Getting married while you're going 200mph??? Now I gotta find a bride who would agree to that.
If you do, don't let anyone here know until you tie the knot. There will be a forum of single guys in active pursuit.
Agree completely. I'd have to loose some poundage to fit but Carol is convinced she could fit easily. We, along with Gary, were fortunate to see it during the F1 test day. We returned the following week and the car was covered. We ask if the cover could be removed and the answer was a definite NO. They said it belonged to a sponsor. We could walk around and look at the other cars and equipment in the facility all we wanted but were not allowed to even approach the 3 seater - even though it was completely covered. But, one can dream. John
Wait a minute... Ferrari bring that 3-seater to every race now? Are they giving rides to their sponsors or is it for Marlboro red racing shool promotional stuff only?
From what we were told it belongs to the sponsor and "rides" are not available. It doesn't go to every race. There was a special deal as I recall for owners if you did the Ferrari F1 Club package for the race at Hungary and it's available for Monza also. You got a tour of the GES area on a Thursday or Monday. Cost for basic F1 Club pkg is 3000 Euro; F1 Club & Hotel single - 5690 Euro; dbl 9290 Euro and Fly with Team single - 8990 Euro; dbl 13,190 Euro. The photo of the three-seater is in the Cliente building. PS (I'm the blonde on the Owner's Site in the autograph photo with MS). Carol
Sorry that I didn't make it clear from my original post but the picture was taken in Maranello after my return from Budapest with the Scuderia. Oh, before I forget, there were two parked side by side and both owned by Phillip Morris.
I assume this car is a re-painted Arrows AX3? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think for me, the target 2 seat champcar with non other than Mario driving would have been the way for me to go. If for no other reason than being driven around by the master. I don't know but will Schu himself ever drive this thing?
Hi Carol, I think I met you in Maranello this April while we were on the factory tour. You asked if I was on FerrariChat and at the time I had never heard of it at the time and I am addicted already. I remember you talking about the F1 test day, and I hope to go back for that in a couple years. Anyway, this 3-seat F1 car looks like fun, and I would pay a pretty penny to have a ride from Mr. MS.
