F430 vs CS

well , well , well , where do i start . after picking up the 430 on wednesday and driving it back to brisbane thursday , it is appealing to me more and more . i will note some of the differences between the 430 and the CS.

1: 430 has more torque and HP , it pulls harder from all gears as would be expected . a short race against my GT2 which i was driving and the 430 just won . the 430 had a full tank of fuel ( 95 litres ) and the GT2 was a quarter full ( 15 litres ) plus the 2 weighs in at about 1370 kg and the 430 would be 1500 kg . on the figures the 430 is outstanding but the porsche had the grunt over 3 years ago.

2: the gear change on the 430 is very smooth and very quick , even when cold . the CS is a little jerky when cold and not as smooth when warm. the 430 blips the throttle on the up shift as well as the down shift . this makes it smoother . the CS only blips on the down shift.

3: the dash lights on the 430 are on all the time automatically even if you don't put the parkers on. i think this is a good idea.

4: the 430 clock is located inside the rev counter dial which is much better than on the roof which is hard to read.

5: the 430 doesn't cut the ignition like the CS after the car has been off for 1 minute. this is better.

6: the 430 has a chime if the drivers seat belt isn't attached after the car is rolling .

7: the filler cap is different and the pump nozzle fits better and is easier to fill than the CS

8: the exhaust sound is very deep and i may decat or change the exhaust as it hides a lot of the grunt that is being generated by the V8

9: the high beam switch can't be pressed forward if the lights aren't turned on

10: the oil cap is different and has less turns to tighten

i drove a gallardo today and it is a big difference to the 430. it very space age inside and you sit a long way from the nose of the car . also the seat position , pedals , dash lay out is very different. it fells very heavy through the steering wheel . the exhaust note sounds very ballsy . i drove the gallardo and the gallardo driver drove the 430 and we took off side by side rolling in second and he pulled away with a passenger in the car. i think he was a little suprised at how fast the 430 is after driving my CS

the 430 is an everyday drive car and also a weapon. it is the best car i have driven and ferrari have raised the bar with this one. we need to thank the gallardo for making ferrari bring out such an amazing car. i think the CS wll be for sale in the coming months

After being driven around the Black Spur by AHG in his 430 and then having a good drive of it myself afterwards, I sort of expected that you might feel that way.

 

Nice little collection of cars. Were the pics taken in Bulimba? or the port?

 

looks at lot like the the back part of the halls of justice scene in madmax 1,

and roger that triple j sticker just suits the CS to a tee

I've got a few questions though:
1) Didn't you say you ordered your F430 in Rosso Scuderia? In the pics it looks like Corsa, IIRC Scuderia is more of an orangey hue..
2) Looks like the CS has a lower ride height than the F430, can you feel any difference between the two (sitting, height wise)?
3) NNO! Never never off... not nice officer...?

 

I envisage scud spending alot of time explain the NNO plate to people

I'm still sad that the CS is leaving......hopefully someone in Perth buys it, we need one here.

NNO = Enzo (just think about it for a bit).

 

the 430 is scuderia just like the CS. the CS has after market shocks and yes it does sit very low. the 430 will be adjusted this week to sit lower , maybe some more pics then.

 

NNO = Enzo?
NZO? (with the middle N turned around..?)

I thought it was the reply you give to someone when they ask if they can drive it: "nnnnnnnnnnno!"

Got no idea.

 

i actually thought NNO= ENO, meaning epsom salts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sound of the CS brings back some nice memories, just amazing!

p.s. i saw the GT2 today, just after the memorial drive bridge thing at morningside, didnt see who was driving, but they were sure give it some stick along the road there.
