Lamborghini LM002 Special by Salvatore Diomante - 10 pictures First up are a few pics of the silver/grey LM002 that, after Brunei and the UK, is now in Germany. For the first time we can have a good look at the passenger compartment. This Lamborghini seats no less than 7 people! Or 4 grown ups with 6 childeren. And all of that with the luxury of leather and walnut, colour tv, phone and bar. Then there are three (official) photo's of a white LM002. This one is pretty much the same as the grey one, except for a raised roof. This time Diomante was asked to make an LM002 Estate in wich a person 170 cm tall can stand upright. Lamborghini Diablo SE30 - 4 pictures One of my favourite Lamborghini's in a fantastic white colour. The interior is of blue alcantara suede and a purple roof. - Aston Update -
http://www.**************/PitLane?vi...04217&bottom=0 Aston Martin V8 Zagato - 3 pictures The Italian coachbuilder created one of the greatest and truly most beautiful cars of all time with the DB4GT Zagato back in 1960. They say that lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. But the lightning bolt that is Zagato, struck Newport Pagnell for a second time in 1986 with the brutal Vantage Zagato. Announced a year previously at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show, the eventual unveiling a year later and every one of the 50 production cars had been pre-sold to customers placing a £15,000 deposit for the £87,000 machine. The standard Vantage was at the time one of, if not the fastest cars in the world; by reducing the wheelbase, loosing the rear seats, tweaking the engine and fitting a new slippery body with flush fitting glass, the Zagato became the ultimate Aston. Unfortunately, many were not overly impressed by the final styling of the new Zagato. One of the most controversial aspects of the design was the 'power bulge' which was so necessary to house the airbox for the massive Weber 48 IDA carbs bored out to 50mm. Although a flat bonnet was originally intended with a fuel injection system underneath, this would probably not have produced sufficient power to achieve the promised 300 kph top speed. Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante - 1 picture This is the 1986 Birmingham Motor Show car. What a stunner ![]() With a maximum speed in excess of 160 mph, these were the fastest four seater convertible cars of their time. Indeed even a mid 90's Virage Volante couldn't keep up with one of these - although a 6.3 Volante would come close. Aston Martin V8 Zagato Volante - 3 pictures A Volante version made its debut at the 1987 Geneva Auto Show and was offered at an even more limited run of only 25, although a total of 37 were eventually made due to high demand. This is that 1987 Geneva Motorshow car. Interesting about this car is that it was in fact a conversion of a coupe and was built to full Vantage specification (so that means the 432 BHP 580X engine then). Aston Martin Virage - 5 pictures Aston Martin Virage Volante Special - 2 pictures A black one next to the 6,3 Virage Volante. But I don't think it's just any Volante. The front end is special, almost like a 6,3 conversion front end, except for the lip. But the rear doesn't match that of a regular 6.3, nor the wheels or hood. The hood looks kinda like the Works coachbuilt Lightweight. :c Aston Martin Virage Volante 6,3 - 15 pictures Showing three different Virage Volante with the Works Service 6.3 upgrade: one blue one and two greenish cars. Kingsley Riding-Felce, Service Division Director, said every effort had been made throughout not to lose the the standard Virage's flexibility and practicality. "We did not wish to end up with a massively-powerful and unsocial car which would be unsuitable for anything but motorways," he said. "With the 6.3 we have achieved our objective of a high-performance and yet still classic sports car which is eminently suitable for everyday use and a great pleasure to drive. Its handling and road holding are also of the highest order, yet here too the driver's and passenger's comfort has been important". Suspension modifications include different spring and shock absorber ratings and revised roll bars and wishbone mountings, and 285 / 45 ZR Goodyear Eagle tyres are on special 18in alloy wheels. Bodywork changes include flared wheel arches and revised front spoiler, with a boot-lid spoiler option. The vented and drilled disc brakes are the largest fitted to a production car, and the calipers are Group C racing developed. Aston Martin V8 Volante LWB Convertible - 2 pictures Later Volante convertibles were built to the V8 Coupe's improved specification, and then in 1998 a further variation on the theme became available. Premiered at the London Motor Show in October, this was a long-wheelbase version of the Volante benefiting from a 200mm stretch that increased rear passenger leg room and luggage space. By the time production of Aston Martin's long running V8 finally ceased in 2000, just 64 of these last-of-the-line Volantes had been built compared with 234 of the standard shorter-wheelbase version. Hi, just spent the whole morning reading this thread. Amazing stuff. I spent my youth as a real car buff but then lost interest as I got older. My friend bought a Maserati recently and it re-opened that 'car' part of my brain again. Anyway, I don't have any info on the yellow F40 other than I saw it stuck in traffic on the M25 a couple of years ago. I assumed it was a copy because it was yellow and RHD but obviously not. There were a few other interesting cars in the same traffic jam (I seem to remember a C Type Jag) so I assumed it was someone moving some stock or cars being taken to auction maybe. Also can someone explain why the links to Basmans gallery won't show for me? The link is just *****'d out. Thanks. |

I recall some questions being asked what was DPD and DPM on the car registrations.
