Coolest...okay - true. I'd never heard an F40 rev that high before, so I did definitely enjoy that aspect of it. I will say that I was a bit surprised to see the driver not wearing any type of protective gear - ex-F1 or not. In a car with that much "cajones", and on a track where you can reach those speeds, at *least* wear a helmet, man!
*changing my shorts* Ahem ok, so this guy has some huge hairy balls, no helmet and wearing loafers?!?! damn. To bad no outside shots though.
If the car he is driving is the one he was standing beside, it's NOT an LM. Look at the rear wing. Also LMs have dog ring gear boxes, and either Jacques needs to go to shifting school (unlikely) or he wasn't driving an LM. He was using the clutch to shift. Not needed in an LM. Cool video anyway. Thanks, just what I was going to note as well. During his time in F-1, Jacques Laffite was known as one of the bravest drivers of his era. Nice to see he's still driving once in a while. Does anyone know the circuit this is on? If it was mentioned on the audio, I couldnt hear it for some reason on this end. BHW
This video goes back to 1992, it is drawn from the Turbo emission of the M6 channel of French television. The circuit, it acts of the circuit of Mas du Clos of Pierre Bardinon in the center of France (Département de la Creuse). The car it's a Ferrari F40 LM #79891 of Ferrari France.
I use a computer alarm anyway...maybe the sound could be extracted...... Seriously though, LM or not, the F40 is respected in my book, and it is pretty cool to see one driven that hard. Look at how much he is bouncing around in there, you guys are spot on about the protective gear, even for an experienced driver. Craig
Amazing VDO! Cool driver - he's looking so relaxed and smoothed when commanding that pracing horse! Nice track indeed - looking like a private to me! Who know abot this track anyway? Thanks for sharing!
TOO intense is right. I have never heard an F40 rev so high. Stay tuned guys, Im working on extracting the sound
