it looks as stunning as...........well.............all Gallardos! the only affordable true exotic IMO

 

it does look good, but I think the door mirror looks too big if I could criticise any part of it.

Stunning, makes a 360/430 look pretty soft and curvy in comparison. It's not "pretty" like a Ferrari, it's tough...

Thanks fellas. Ash and I took it for a run in the rain as soon as I picked it up. It has to get wet sooner or later!

The car feels harder than the standard Gallardo I traded. The suspension is firmer but rides more nicely (if that is possible). It is a hell of a lot louder. The downshift blip is really too loud for polite company and it has more of a shriek under acceleration. It is near tubi loud above 4,000rpm to my untrained ear. A couple of times when changing to first, Ash and I both laughed at the outrageous noise. The note is unrecognisable from the old car for much of the time except on steady low rpm throttle when it is reasonable quiet.

The lower gearing means the pick up in the first 2 ratios feels much faster. The e-gear is more abrupt on change-up, but less "shunty" than before. It feels like it will be easier to get off the line with the lower first gear, but I'm being gentle - although it requires no running in according to the manual. The faster steering is immediately noticeable.

The car looks lower and more skeletal (illusions created by black roof) and the loud yellow interior trim pieces really lighten the "dark tomb" feeling in a lot of Lambos. The interior seems better built - as it should be now they have had some practice. The pearl paint doesn't show in the fog but it is lively colour.

Overall, it is has a more hardcore feel about it - which I like. It might be less of a daily driver (you really need to "drive around" that noise for the sake of the neighbours) but it will be more special on outings.


I'll post more when I've driven it in anger. Christ, I wish the rain would stop!

Just wondering, is the black roof standard on all SEs? How about colour combos, I read that they limited your choice to only a few different colours.
If you have some time to take some interior shots (and possibly some older comparo pics of your old Gallardo) that would be great!

 

What about lap times... did you go to Mallala with your old one? What are the proven and backed up claims (not internet speculation) from lambo about performance increase....

 

Did they give the car a performace increase?? Or is it just cosmetically??
