Anyone know anything about the Italian Car Show at the park in downtown Norcross? I can't remember if it's usually held in Oct or Nov, but I know it's getting close.

It will be on October 11 this year, the week after the Petit Le Mans. Same location as the last two years.

Uh, Norcross, we have a problem......

Although 10/11 had been originally announced as the date of the show, that has apparently been changed to 10/4!

If that is indeed the case, many of us (including myself) will NOT be there, since we will be attending the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on 10/4!

I find it hard to believe that John Montgomery and/or the city of Norcross would make a gaffe that serious, so I will withhold judgment until I get confirmation one way or the other. If the date is indeed 10/4, I fear that the park in Norcross will be an eerily quiet place.....

Please tell me this is not the case. Would hate to miss Italian Car Day but we need to be at petit to support the brand.

Sorry guys.... the date IS 10/4. It was subject to Norcross's availability and not wanting to push the show into November. We tried not to conflict with other events and not wanting to chance the weather in Novemeber, we had to go with the date that Norcross had made available to us. Sometimes there are tough choices to be made... in any case the show must go on, and y'all have choices to make as well....... that's life I guess.

Jeff, was Sunday (10/5) ever considered? While those of us who had gone to the Petit might rather have gotten the day off, I'd consider going to ICD on that Sunday. (Look at how many people go to Sunday car shows now - C&O and its alternative!)

Man, that is brutal. I will be at Road Atlanta........... hate that............ maybe drop the car off in the morning then go to Road Atlanta. Then come back a 4pm pick the car, and trophy for whatever brand you have , as nobody will be there... so you will win just by showing up.
That really is thought a show and I hate to miss it. But maybe 2015.
    Wow............. just Wow....................

I say push it to November, and risk it. Weather can't be that bad, and will have a good chance for people to actually bring their car in some cooler weather.

I talked with John Montgomery at length at the Greenville Coffee and Cars. Even not just the ferrari people will miss the show, as they will be at Road Atlanta, you could lose 1/3 of all the cars, as stated owners of these brands love to see the race. It starts at 10am and goes to 10pm. So it would be hard to miss the start of the race, as that is when you get to go on the track and see the cars really close.

And lots of times November is super nice, and people tend to get their cars out in the cooler times in Ga. The trees don't lose all their leave in november, should be nice.

Norcross may not have anything going on much in Nov. The last big show of the season could be this one. Until we get back into Oct. but Nov. may be as strong. 2nd weekend could be nice.
    Best,
    John

I just checked the Norcross city website, and their calendar shows NO weekend events any weekend in October or November after the weekend of October 11/12.

You'd probably want to avoid the weekend of October 18/19 (Euro Auto Festival in SC) and the weekend of November 1/2 (U.S. Grand Prix in Austin). I suppose that October 25/26 would work out quite nicely.....

Norcross's printed calander of event is not the definitive inside information as to the doings of the city. It's a guide, but not the interactions of the government and the business owners who have final say on what they want and when they want it. The park also has private events scheduled that may or may not interfere with wanted dates. Coming to their community with a show has to work with their needs and not neccesarily dates on a calendar or the needs of the show. Also we have to be cognizant of the time commitments from our volunteers, our official photographer, the vendors and the dealers that will be displying, ALL of their own timing constraints. AND not to have to conflict with other events happening elswhere on those dates. There are a lot og logistics that people are not aware of or appreciative of when putting on a show. There is a lot of footwork involved. It's not just simply the avaiability of a park or empty field. Stay tuned......

I know it's kind of small on the picture of the poster, but at the bottom is a note of the website that will be dedicated to the show. It's not live yet, but should go live, hopefully by the end of the day today or very shortly.

Coming Soon - Future home of something quite cool

Also an important note..... The entrance and car registration is different than it was last year. It's noted in Mitches posting and the text announcement that I posted.

We have to keep the traffic management peeps (police) in Norcross happy too! :)

another note... please don't come too early as we will be setting things up and things won't yet be in place for registration while we scurry around.

and a final request...... please listen to the parking guides after you register so they can get your car to an appropriate spot in a timely manner and just not park where you think is good spot. We have to be aware of others and the parking setups we have planned for all the marques.

    Thanks guys and gals.......
