Upcoming race shop tours for March

just a reminder of a few upcoming club events.

March 14th, Kinetic Motorsports tour meet and greet with team Managed Ed Hall. 10:00 am.

March 27th, David Murry Performance open house 5:30. Catered, shop tour, team presentation, race cars include 2 Lotus Esprit race cars. Grassroots will be there doing a photo shoot and interview.

March 28th, Jon Kasse Race engines. Shop, dyno, cast, performance shop tour. 11:00 am.

this Friday, Lotus engineer Dave Simkin will be in town and I am having dinner with him at the Tilted Kilt at 6:30 over by Lotus Cars USA . all Lotus club members welcome to attend.

April --we will have an opportunity to meet Ausie Rally championship driver Martin Kernahan. he is the last factory Mini Cooper Rally driver. he will be in town visiting Jeremy Buckingham's shop in Alpharetta and he has welcomed us all to stop in and meet Martin . apparently he has great stories of Rally racing back in the 80's.


I am also trying to get us a tour at Porsche Motorsports new Atlanta location. They have responded to me and will invite us to tour the new Corporate office and track tour at their new facility down where the old Ford factory was near the airport. More to follow on that.

Just spoke with Ed at Kinetic. he is looking for a head count for the tour. I have about 10 from Lotus, Aston and Porsche clubs. Please let me know if you plan to attend.

I timed this just right so we will get to see the race cars at their final stage of race prep because they open their 2015 soon .. This means we will get to see the final touches on the race cars.. should be cool.

same with Jon Kaase. They are in full swing with race engines for 2015 so we will see them getting engines ready for NHRA, street racing competition.


also, with David Murry. the timing again was preplanned. he is gearing up and prepping race cars for the Mitty so we will see his shop manager Frank prepping race cars for the Mitty and restoring race cars for other 2015 events.

Kinetic tour for Saturday has been cancelled due to Kinetic member family death. Funeral will be Saturday am. will reschedule soon.

 

Kinetic tour rescheduled to 3/21 at 10:00. this will also allow the Amelia Island folks to attend.
