anyone going ? The Lotus club will be parking a corral up by the bridge as we do every year. should be a good weekend O fun.. should be about 15 Lotus guys, any Ferrari takers ?
I will be there. Not sure if I will drive the spider. It was a mud hole today for the bike race. May drive the Porsche.
They usually have corrals by country. If so, I'll be in the Italian corral on Friday and/or Saturday, depending on the weather.
Going to miss this year unfortunately, but plan on going to the Vintage Weekend at Barber in May. Hopefully that will be comparable to the Mitty.
We are going to be up there this year vending from our race trailer. We will be up on the hill in the infield. We are also bringing a couple of Ferraris and a Maserati for display.
Hi I've got a Stone Gray Metallic Porsche 944 Turbo, you can't miss it its got the huge factory Turbo decal on the front fender
cool.. we will meet at Lotus, BS with those knuckleheads, test drive some new Evora's and then go to the Tilted Kilt.. a little slice O heaven. go to the track then go to Jacks pub for dinner and drinks.. Just as god intended.
Friday and Sunday both have good weather forecasted, but Saturday looks like a washout. I think I'll just go on Friday and save Sunday for the Taste of Marietta (!).
I just checked the entry list. About 350 cars total, including 12 vintage F1 cars, but NO Ferraris of any kind and only two Alfa Romeos. The only other Italian cars listed were two late-model Dallara Indycars.
I'll be coming tomorrow morning for the whole day, seems the turnout will be their biggest. And I got word that a yellow Porsche 918 is already there.
Ronnie Peterson leads Vittorio Brambilla, Riccardo Patrese and Mario Andretti out of turn 10B at Road Atlanta on Friday.....well, at least it looked that way! I'll be posting lots more photos in the week ahead. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was so nice seeing many of you! Jim P, I missed seeing you but I got some really nice shots of your 328 by the skid pad. Had a blast and saw some Ferraris I've never seen before! Saw a really nice dark gray 348 Spider and a GORGEOUS 355 GTS in a color similar to Rosso Scuderia & Rosso Dino put together...anyone else see that 355?
First, a shot of our humble Ferrari corral - all of 3 cars, at least it was on Friday. (I caught a glimpse of Tommy Cosgrove heading away from his 308; after that I saw neither of the drivers all day long.) And among the more exotic street machines in the paddock - the aforementioned 918 and an SLR McLaren. Somehow that second shot of the 918 reminds me of one of the "sandpeople" from Star Wars! Unlike their old setup under Historic Grand Prix, the F1 cars were not housed in the same tent but were in their own paddock areas just like all the other cars. Griot's Garage had the biggest spread, with the Parnelli and the Hill, among others. The Lotus 76, with its biplane rear wing (which only raced once in that configuration) was the most interesting of the lot to me.
