    He apparently is still in awful shape. It's been like 2 years since the accident. I don't think he will be able to have much of a life. He really got hurt bad.

    Unless some serious medical progress is made regarding traumatic brain injury, it is most likely, being 2 years post accident, that he has made about as much recovery as can be expected. The longer it goes, the less likely you are to recover, unfortunately. If there is a good side, it might be that he is in Europe and the family has the financial means to try every possible thing in an effort to recover more fully.
