    To all:

Atlanta Motorsports Park is doing a really nice event-to which all of the FCA guys and gals are invited.

In March-It is a chance to come up to AMP, have lunch, listen to me give a boring speech on the design of the Ford GT and then---You are all given a good deal of "free" track time!

Pretty good deal. Cost is low-for entry it is free for all FCA members and $15 per person for any guest that want to bring and then there will be an additional cost for lunch. AMP needs a headcount so they can work out catering costs-but should not be a huge amount. The deal is that AMP will pay for 50% of the catering costs and FCA people will shoulder the rest. I would not expect FCA (Tom Spiro/etc) to cough up the money but rather that each individual who goes pays his/her share of the lunch cost. But up to Tom Spiro/FCA "bosses".

Again-no idea of exact amount but when you get 3 hours of "free" track time with the package then nobody should complain too much.

AMP needs RSVP's-need a good head count for catering. Here is link to website invite:

    https://atlantamotorsportspark.rezdy.com/143238/tech-talk-with-brian-willis

Only down side is you are required to hear me talk about the design of the new Ford GT road and race car for an hour before you can get on track! See-nothing is completely without strings attached!!!

    And here is invite:

any addtl info on the track time ? who/what/where ? paperwork ?

    brian / tom -

you think that 10 yr olds would have an interest ? thought maybe bring up my kid and some kids from his boy scout troop. they have no interest in anything not electronic and this plus the track day (touring group?) might spark some interest.

cause at this rate there's going to be nobody to sell my cars to.

    Hi Brian,

All that sounds very good. Does the guest status need to be tied to a FCA member only or can one register as a guest independently? Some of us Maserati guys would like a crack at this event as well.

    Just Sayin!

The development of the Ford GT is most remarkable how quickly it was brought to fruition and in stealth mode no less. Brian, I believe your talk should be most interesting, so I don't think you should downplay it in any way, shape, or form.

    Ciao,
    George

Just talked to AMP--Seems we have had a very poor showing from the local FCA guys with regards to this offer. A shame. Seems nobody wants to go up to AMP and run around for a bit?

AMP will make room for us if we sign up.. but right now we look like about as sorry-assed a group of car enthusiasts you can imagine....

Brian, your last two posts contradict each other: one refers to a sellout and the other to a poor showing! That doesn't make sense.

I'm very interested in this but it's a bit too far out yet for me to commit to. I didn't realize there was a deadline for responding.

Nothing contradictory at all. Have to read it right and read it all!

I said" AMP will MAKE ROOM for us if we sign up". Pretty straightforward. That implies in a very direct way that it is full but more can be added.

The event is open to more than FCA people. If you took the time to read the invite--It says AMP AND FCA members free-guests $15 each.

Also it says RSVP. What do you think that means? As I mentioned above-they need a head count for catering reasons/costs.

Things move quickly--AMP has had a huge response. Which is why the initial "AMP attendee size limit" was hit so fast. BUT AMP wants the Ferrari guys out there and is willing to open the event size to accommodate us.

And right now we have a total of 3 FCA people signed up. 3 people.... Couldn't care less if they came late and wanted to miss me... but 3 people is really, truly embarrassing.

Maybe I should have tried the Lotus guys.... sigh.....

    HenryR:
    3 hrs open track time.
Bring your car and run it. As fast and as hard as you can/want.

Track is designed to handle up to 60 cars at once . (Insurance limit)

I am sure there are a bunch of track rules to follow, not sure what they ar ebut proabably something like:

    1.) Designated passing zones.
    2.) 1 tire off-come in for inspection/small chat.
3.) 2 wheels off-come in for longer chat
4.) 4 wheels off-come in and sit for a while-maybe end of day for you.

    Etc.

Not sure-Can call AMP and ask. I am sure they are close to any and all track day operations on that stuff.

Does not need to be a Ferrari to run-but nice if it was.
Will be out there with AMP members-so many diff cars on track.

I'm one of the Ferrari guys... so I'll be there, but doubt I'll put the 328 on track... not much fun being passed by Miata's ... but maybe the Porsche.

as for FCA turnout - I know its frustrating, however I have resigned my self to the part that our members have lots going on... and AMP is a pretty much full day commitment - especially from where I live & I'm a member!

However to all on the board - this will be a great event, and if you have not been on track at AMP - you need to do it, its fun & a little scary at times... but a must do.
