My car on WSB-TV website!

Friends at work persuaded me to go to Caffeine & Octane on Sunday morning, where I hadn't been since January, and the weather forecast was promising.

I was wondering if I had made a wise decision when it took forever to get into the lot. I arrived on Ashford-Dunwoody Road at 6:40 but didn't actually park until 7:25, and for most of that 45 minutes I was sitting no more than 50 feet from my eventual parking space in the "exotics" lot! They need to hire some professionals to get people inside in a more expeditious manner.

I went to get breakfast and find my friend Rich, who was there with one of the 70+ Dodge Challengers that always park together inside the loop road. By the time I returned to my car there were three Acura NSX's parked on my left (one new and two old), a 458 on my right and a Rolls-Royce Phantom to his right. I watched the Rolls back into the space and told him it looked like he was docking the Queen Mary! That thing is a tank!

Today, one of my coworkers, who was there with his Turbo Beetle, sent me this link to a photo gallery of the event on WSB-TV's website. And in the 6th photo (of 75), there was Goldiwheels! So maybe it was worth going after all. I'll post some photos that I took when I get a round tuit.

Exotics at Caffeine & Octane

Here are some photos of exotics and near-exotics at C&O on Sunday. I include in this category the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which may be an SUV, but it is also an Alfa Romeo. I also include the new Honda Civic Type R, which certainly has near-exotic performance. (If I replaced my Civic with one, I would have a Civic faster than my Ferrari! It'll never happen.)

Of course, many of the other cars and bikes at C&O can be considered "exotic" in their own right:

Even completely stock cars were worth a look. When is the last time you saw a '51 Mercury that hadn't been converted into a "lead sled"?
