Jordan Spieth age 21 is tearing up the course. He is on hole 16. If he pars out the next 3 holes he will set the record for the first two rounds at the Masters. If he gets one more birdie he will set the record for 36 holes for all majors!

5 strokes ahead of Hoffman in p2.

He has a 40 yr golf brain in a 21 yr old body.

they play in the same groups the first two days regardless of score with an late/early rotation (if you play early thurs you play late friday and vice versa). After the 36 hole cut they repair by score

If he had started last then I would have gotten to watch him play on TV :(
I like watching him play. He's a very respectful person and has a level head for someone his age.

I REALLY hope he doesn't turn into Tiger.
I've followed him a few times at tournaments and he's fun to watch

I hope so too. But Tiger was arrogant as a kid. Went on a late night TV show and bragged that he was going to beat Watson, Palmer and Nicklaus.

What I tried to convey was that nobody's paying attention to Tiger any more...largely thanks to Spieth. And he is a Texas gentleman in the tradition of Crenshaw who has been sharing his wisdom with him.

All those Mercedes commercials bragging about how they killed everybody in F1 last year.

Thank goodness for recording and using the fast forward feature. ;)

Spieth has stayed humble and it's great to see a young athlete succeed without letting it get into his head. Hopefully he stays that way.

Either way I'm cheering him on this weekend!

I just kill the captioning, mute the mutterers *and* take hearing aid off.

I'd like to see Jordan continue to play well, but Phil double-Eagle *twice* & eventually even it out, forcing a shootout at the OK Corral.

    In reality -
Just wish everybody'd quit dressing for a 4-H livestock show.

Would love to see speith hang out. I'm a fan.

Mickleson as a back up is good too. Just no justin rose please.. rooting for Americans here.

Wax a pro's PW is not the same as your PW. They modify shaft lengths and lofts on their clubs.

Pretty incredible. And he looks as cool as a cucumber.

Nice turn out for tiger overall, imo. He looks like he's in pain to me.

The first time that I saw Jordan Spieth play golf on TV, I sensed that there was something special about this kid, and he proved it in this tournament. To lead from wire-to-wire and be able to fend off all challenges without cracking is a remarkable achievement for a 21-year-old. In a way, he reminds me of a young Nicklaus, and we all know how that turned out!

Congrats to Tiger for hanging in there, even with an injury, and proving that he's not quite washed up yet. But I think that of these two, Spieth may be the one more likely to threaten Jack's majors-winning record in the end.

He also looked very very tired, like he hadn't slept in days.

I think he's really trying to get back to who he really is at his core. His small joking and smiling at his last tournament showed that other side.

I was lucky enough to be there this year and Tiger does appear to be dragging. There are plenty of other older players, even older than Tiger, who seemed to be highly motivated and really into the proceedings -- Mickleson, Els, Westwood. Tiger kind of looked like it was a job that he had to do -- even before he hurt his wrist on that chip shot out of the pine needles. But the crowds at Augusta absolutely love him, they cheered him in a way that is reserved for only a few players: Tiger, Phil, Matt Kuchar, Ricky Fowler and Ben Crenshaw. That's something that's hard to measure on a leaderboard, but you sure can feel it when you're among the patrons.

I am very sure that Jordan will join that select group.

My son played soccer for years with the kid down the street. The kid used to always talk about a guy at his school that was an incredible golfer. I heard it LOTS of times.

The incredible golfer was Jordan Speith.

    Congrats to our home-town boy!
