Is there a test for this to tell if its bad or not with the engine in or out?
I see in the WSM the adjustment procedure to set it at 2.5mm.

Any tips / suggestions on setting this up correctly greatly appreciated
    :)

With the hydraulic tensioner off the motor, press down on the plunger with your thumb and feel if it goes in smoothly and without any grit in the action.
