Is there a place that can restore this type of electrical circuit? I guess the little copper strips need to be repaired and re-laminated. I'm not even sure where to start looking but if there is some place out there that does this type of service, this has to be one of the easier ones to do. This one is not very big or terribly complicated, or at least it doesn't appear to be.

Is that out of a scirocco? (sp?)

I wonder if the guys at Palo Alto can't fix it.

    worth a call.

also, if you want a used one, continental auto parts in Havertown, PA. Don't recall their PH #, they are on Lawrence Road, I think. No website, but always had a yard full of European cars and parts.

Thanks. I'll give both a call. If they don't I bet they could at least steer me in the right direction

It is out of a Scirocco but it could be out of any one of those cars from 74 to about the late 80's I guess.

There are not may circuits there that can't be bypassed with really fine wire I suppose but that would make a real mess behind there. Thankfully these things are only slightly more complicated than a Beetle.

    Conductive paint might work.

mylar, kapton thin film flexible circuits are easy to repair. I believe one can even print and etch them at home these days. It's old school circuit boarding and most electrical nerds could probably re-print you a new one without much effort.

I did a quick check, and it looks like you can buy flex circuit boards though some of the prototype PCB vendors (DirtyPCB is the first one I found). If you can fit into their design rules, cost isn't prohibited (but you'd need to reverse engineer the board).
