    Hi guys,

Is there a 3rd party software to download so that I can transfer files more than 4 Gb in size into my pen drive?

    Thanks!

    P/s: I'm using an iMac OS X

Not sure if this helps you or not but I like using DropBox.com as a web tool to share large files across computers.

DropBox is free for the first 2 GB of total space used.
You can earn free additional space or purchase whatever you need.

Works great across multiple computers and can even synchronize shared folders in the background.

If you use it as a transfer-only tool for typical files, then the 2 GB space limit is easy to stay under.
You just delete shared folders defined within DropBox that have already been transferred to your other PCs before adding new shared folders.

Since you're trying to transfer larger files over 4 GB in size, you'd have to sign up and pay for a larger DropBox space to do that.
A plan for 100 GB of space is $8.25 per month.

Reformat pen drive as MacOS Extended in disk utility instead of default FAT. Problem solved. This is limitation of FAT filesystem and has nothing to do with any software. NTFS for windows will do the same.

Formatting to NTFS or MaC HFS should take care of that. If u have files in the drive that u need to back before a reformat, u can use split there are a few versions ... split the bigger file into 2G chunks and glue 'em back in the target drive.

Don't bother with "splitting" the files. That just making this process more difficult than it needs to be.

Simply move all data off of the thumb drive, then perform a format to the new filesystem, then move all files plus the new 4+Gig files back onto it.

Right. It did work halfway. I've managed to transfer more than 4 gb of files into my pen drive, however in the process, I dont know if I did it right, but now my pen drive can only be read on macs, and no more pcs...

I'm not too sure. My cousin did it for me actually. Now it can only read on Macs.
