Online downloads over 60 Mb?

I have found a site for motorcycle service manuals that after clicking the file you are directed to another page to enter a verification code. A second or two later you then get the option to save the file.

This works perfectly for files under 60 Mb from this particular site. However with files over 60 Mb after the code is typed and verified it stalls for several minutes, and finally then gives the "save as" prompt, but the file saved is 0 bytes.

I know I can download files larger than this, just not from this site. Their response is that they do not have problems on their end.

Running IE 9, BTW. Also didn't work for Chrome.

Is there a simple setting or something I'm missing? Very strange.

All files over 60 Mb seem to do this.

Since I posted this I have tried it on a couple of computers and on several networks, using different service providers.
