I'm interested in getting a good wireless home audio system. Frankly, I'm not much of an audiophile in the sense that I love music but I don't know much about the new technology. I'm looking for a complete system. About the only component I have worth keeping is a good quality Thorens turntable. (I still like to spin the vinyl.) I'd like to limit my expenditure to about $2,000, if it's possible to get a decent system for that. I need a system that's fairly straightforward to set up as I live in a town where there's little in the way of tech support.

I've read the obvious web sites but I'd rather hear experiences and suggestions from real-world users.

    All suggestions appreciated.

Thanks. I'll check both of those. Does the AirPlay require any Apple peripherals?

I have an Apple TV connected to my home stereo and an iHome speaker in my bedroom. They both show up on AirPlay to stream from my phone iPad or laptop. All my stuff was apple already so it was an easy setup.

Yes, an apple Airport Express connected to each stereo you want to use. Works brilliantly. You can use it with an external DAC too.

    Apple - Mac - AirPort*Express

You can also use Apple TV, then you can browse iTunes on your TV and play it through your hi-fi. You can also just airplay music to an Apple TV.

All iphones, ipads and macs have airplay but I think there are ways of doing it on Android.

I have sound in every room and outdoors as well. All controlled by either the Bose remote or an app on my iPhone or iPad.
Very easy to set up and live with. And, they sound great!
