Winter Advisory Alert has been issued by the crash dummy 348Tony! That's right, I'm at it again everybody! I was in Oklahoma City over the weekend and knew this morning I needed to get a head start on the weather so I left about 9:30. By the time I'd gotten just past Ardmore there were emergency vehicles everywhere and cars flipped up on their sides. Just 5 miles before I hit Sanger, and just less than 10 minutes after I got off the phone with Jarrett, I did a donut in the middle of the highway landing in a ditch. I just knew I'd killed another one! Car was fine, I was fine, and so was Katie, but damn did it scare me. Everyone was doing about 45 or so being careful and BAMMM! ...just like that I was in the ditch. I restarted the car and backed right out of the hole, got it to the Cheveron in Sanger and no damage! Just made it in, and I'm now going to shop for a truck of some sort to get me through the winter. All and all, she did handle the weather very well, but not worth the risk... Here's the ones I took when I got home safely. As low as she is, I was real lucky I laid her up where I did and no damage...just a really pricey detail bill come tomorrow to get all the mud out from underneath. What everyone else said. The snow has left Tyler and I think may be headed my way as there was snow in Penelope and south of me aswell.
Good to hear you're okay. Close call indeed. If you're seriously thinking about buying a truck for winter, shoot me a PM.
haha, tony you crack me up! i got a nice z71 chevy for sale if your looking for a truck and its cheap cheap like the birds say. pm me if you want details on it
Glad there was no real damage. I love the 348s, one of the sharpest looking Ferraris IMHO, and I actually prefer its tidy dimensions to the TR, no offence to TR owners, they clearly are awesome cars. My all time fav is the 288GTO. Anyhoo. I guess you were not even running snow tires, LOL. Wow, not a day to take out a prancing horse. I once drove one of my 951s back from OK City to Dallas in snow back around 1992, it was actually fun, I remember it well, no 360s though. Best wishes. R.S.
I agree, just get a beater truck is all you need. I know a Countach owner / Fchat member that drove a old Toyota to his office.
