is there a market for entire houses in houston

what i mean is, if i buy a house, only really because i like the lot, and not the house, and the house is not a tear down, can i sell the entire house to be taken off the property, foundation and all?

is there a market for that?
how is it priced? or is it just case by case?

Yes, of course.

Although a poured slab is hard to handle, "somehow" they do it.

Call someone like JTB Demolition and they will know who to call.

If it's up on piers or blocks, it's a piece of cake.

Won't it be cheaper (and better) if you just built new?

I feel like it would, but I haven't been in the real estate game long enough to give a viable answer.

Plus, the stress of moving would cause a lot of damage. I'm guessing all the sheetrock and door jams would have to be redone. But, I've done a lot of things, but never moved a house.

Me, too. I would think that a lot of it would have to do with the size of the house and width of the streets for the idea to be feasible. My perception of houses in the Houston area is that ones on nice lots would need to be cut into halves or thirds or more to address the moving issues.

It seems like he want to buy the place for the lot. Instead of demolishing the house, sell it to someone and move it.

bingo
i am not allowed to tear the house down, and the only way to get it off the property is to remove the whole damn thing and place it somewhere else as a complete house.

i have found a couple companies who do this. the problem now is to find the taker, or the lot to put it down on.....

Here is a company local to me but they do work nationwide. I've used them in the past to stabilize a 2 1/2 story 1930's solid masonry home. They do very good work.

My daughter and family are building a house in the Memorial area right now. They tore down a house, but first, got with Habitat for Humanity, and they have different programs to take out the stuff they can use, and then give you a big tax write-off. They found that Habitat greater Houston was not doing it anymore, but Habitat SW Houston was, so they went with them. You have to pay for the service, which for their option was $10k, they haul off what they want, and then the builder hauls off the rest. They got over $100k in deduction on this years taxes. It took a while, but they were very happy with the whole process.

What makes you think you can build something new there, then?
