I guess it's the "best of times, and the worst of times"... Without going all PC or anything, just wanted to recount my breaking up a mugging last night, right outside of the Norma Zenteno Celebration, at Sambuca. Four kids were pounding on the victim, over his back pack. I set my beer down and waded in, once it was 2 to 4, we won!! But, there's a homeless element at work down there, it was three young kids being led by an older ringleader. Cops (three cruisers responded) regained the backpack from a block away, empty. I did keep the poor kid (who worked at a bar a block away, just got off work) from suffering a serious beating. They were kicking him in the head. Nobody kicks a kid in the head, in my town!! Watch yourselves!! This apparently all started when they engaged him, panhandling....
Other than that, downtown looks good, lots of new bars, people enjoying themselves at twilight... As I was leaving on the Yellow Ducati 996, some girl's snapped a cell phone picture. Made Instagram, I guess!! Met the Ducati Club at Doc's Motorworks and enjoyed dinner. A real change to say that Montrose is now "calmer".....LOL!
