Here are a few photos showing 2015 GT as it is today. Back to original ivory-white with dark red leather interior. Painted by Cremonini, interior by Luppi, both of Modena. Photographed yesterday (13 May 2006) at Diena & Silingardi's Sport Auto in Modena, Italy. It will be driven in the upcoming Le Mans Classic in July. Marcel, Thank you very much for posting these photos and to the owners for restoring it to the original colors. This is my favorite California because of its beauty and its Le Mans providence. Gramps
Ah man, you guys really know how to punch my button. Some of you may know that I prefer the newer cars. After all, I'm a driver, not a lover. But a Cal Spyder. If this is not sex on wheels, I don't know what is. Just keep em coming. Dale
Is he really??? - Well if you're watching the thread Paul - Some Great Cars you have.....The California Spyder has to be my all time greatest favourite though, Great, great cars.....nuff said. Argento
Like you worked for Obrist at one time, I did work for Pappalardo as a mechanic. He is also a friend. A fabulously intelligent Engineer who was the ideal boss. He new just as much about Ferrari, if not more, than the guys who worked on his cars. Paul had a collection of spare parts and research material second to none and twenty years before anyone else decided to follow his example. He is not easy to get close to but never leaves you guessing what is on his mind. He gave me my big break, introduced me to everyone in Modena & Maranello, and provided the best work environment I have ever experienced, period! Please do not misunderstand any of my statements. A Long Island based collector I spoke to insisted that 2015 had been sold. I guess he was wrong. Regards, David

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Does a a color photo exists that shows the color of the seats in 1451GT at Le Mans in 1959?" ------------------------- "I have one I will post tonight." David, Have you had time to look? Thanks. We had the Ferrari Club for a visit. I just got to it, David _________________________________________________________________ David, Much appreciated. It appears the seats were black (?). Gil
Here is 0919, and early LWB. In my view this is the epitome of classical Ferrari beauty, and one of the few Ferraris that look good in white. Just look at it! It makes me want to cry. Nothing flashy, nothing pretentious, just a touch of vanity, and oh so much elegance! I mean just compare this to the stuff Fiat makes now with the Ferrari name. Julio, watch it! You are going to be chastised like I have been. But, you are right. The Boxer and the 308 marked the last of pretty cars leaving Maranello. john
Thanks John. What I wrote is just my opinion (and that of many others on this side of the pond), and it is posted on the vintage forum with no intention of offending anybody. Cheers, Julio
Actually, that exact version of the Cal Spyder is the prettiest of them all, with the covered headlamps, fins and small tail lights, it looks just like a TdF with the roof removed. john
Don't you also think that the LWB looks slightly better than the SWB? I think a long wheel base makes it look sleeker. Cheers. Julio
The questions about the color of the seats of 1451GT at Le Mans 1959 is very interesting for me too. I had reproduced this model 1/43 scale with the inside in red. i dont remenber where I saw this info, and this black and white pic show that the seat weren't black at all ! Someone know ? Thanks.
