Thinking with #4491. Why? The lastest one seen in Talacrest.
    Finished, and certified by C.D.

4491 GTO is RHD. If the pictures of the car in the Talacrest adverts are of the one actually for sale, it's a LHD car. 4491 is also a 1963 car.

The car is a 1962 GTO in lhd and physical. You can buy it with rather large cheque and hit the GTO tour next year. I saw the car today. Stunning....and not imaginary brokered car.

Picture shows 3387 GT or it is genuinely 3387 GT for sale?

Paul, I have no personal knowledge, but based on this ad I would assume 3387 GT is for sale.

The photo is of 3387 GT, taken at the Simeone Museum in 2013. The background has been digitally swapped and some of the reflections cleaned up. In addition, the visible portion of the white central stripe has been removed and the entire image converted to B&W. I imagine this was all done in an attempt to hide the car's identity from casual observers, however, I doubt Talacrest and the consignor believed these alterations would prevent serious buyers and more ardent enthusiasts from recognizing 3387 GT.

The caption immediately below the image reads: TALACREST PHYSICALLY HAVE THIS CAR. Now, I'm not familiar with UK automobile advertising law, but if this ad had been published by a U.S. dealer, the dealer had better have 3387 GT in its possession and available for sale.

Given the reputation and visibility of Collins / Talacrest it is extremely unlikely that he would risk it

Another point is that he tends to own the cars he sells which makes it even more likely that the car is now in the UK

I don't doubt John has a 250 GTO for sale and I am sure given the percentage that have passed through his hands over the years he would have access to one or two images.
I can see 3387 GT is the car is in question in the advert, did this car, however just create the perfect silhouette to pose for the advert...marketing trickery a la the recent Audi 'Quattro' advert with the rear wheels spinning and the front receiving no drive at all (a faux pas on behalf of the marketing company...)
3387 GT was for years stored with Terry Hoyle here in the UK but has been more recently been back on USA soil...
Just playing devils advocate here...and seeking the real answer, a few have moved around...

Back in 2013 when the picture was taken, 3387GT was discussed on a Fchat thread and the comment was made that the US owner had the car (quietly) for sale at that time.

So how is this example ranked among the experts? Top tier GTO? Originality-wise? Racing history has to be in the upper quarter of GTOs, right....Le Mans + Sebring class win??!!

3387GT is a very important GTO I would say as the GTO's race debut was in this car where it came second overall and 1st in class at Sebring 1962 raced by no less than the then current Formula 1 World Champion Phil Hill and partnered by multiple LM winner Olivier Gendebien. It was 6th OA and 3rd IC at Le Mans 1962. Along with the first GTO 3223GT, it was a factory production prototype.

Phil Hill's son Derek refers to this car and how he came to race it in the Petrolicious video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewQaikxTUJs

Just seen this on Talacrest's web site. No affiliation. Former owner Stephen Griswold talks to JC (who during the conversation tells us the price) and then about the car as it was alleged that the car was rebodied in his ownership with the information coming from the Bluemel and Pritchard 250 GTO books, but that is NOT the case. I'll let Mr Griswold do the talking:

Assuming a 10% mark up, is it safe to say they paid $50 million for the car?
