Sorry to be off topic, but I just noticed something in the engine bay pictures of the LMB, the poor 250GT/L is always ragged on by the "critics" for poor handling because the motor is farther forward than the 250SWB or the GTO. If you look at the engine bay pictures you'll see that bores 1&12 and almost one-half of bores 2&11 are well in front of the front axle, just like the Lusso.

The 330 LMB used the 400 SuperAmerica chassis.

The 400SA chassis is still 2400mm, no?

Thanks Steve, I assumed it was 2400 because looking at the engine bay as much engine hangs over the front axle as a Lusso's.

Talacrest bought the 14 Louver together with another dealer directly from RM at the auction as they thought the price was too low. They apparently sold it within 24hrs later. Not sure why is being listed again either.

I love Talacrest's pic of the yellow SWB Competizione in the link below and agree that the TdF does not look good in yellow:

The SWB I was talking about above may have been c/n 2119GT as Stirling Moss raced 2 blue 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione cars.

This is without a doubt the MOST beautiful beautiful picture of a SWB I have ever seen.
What a stunning car and what a stunning angle. Picture credit goes to Sports Car Digest taken at Salon Prive in London.

I wonder who made the body for it? Blue seems to be your colour.

Certain Ferrari's look fantastic in dark blue. The 250 SWB and F 40 are two of them.
What do you mean 'I wonder who designed the body'. Is that a trick question? ;)

If you have a look at the barchetta link for details of the car you'll see that it has been re-bodied. Just wondering who did it?

Ok I see. Yes I would also be interested to know who did this?
DK Engineering? Perhaps someone knows the answer....

There is a 14 louvre replica for sale at Fantasy Junction in this paint scheme. The car (1657GT) was rebodied when mr Sollevi owned the car in Sweden. Even if it IS a destroyed 250GTE it is very beautiful...

I would presume an English body as it has its problems. Destroying perfectly restorable original body must have been one of the most stupid things ever done in the history of Ferrari restorations!

400SA frame is NOT 2500mm,2600 or any where near that long...An SWB
538 frame is 2420mm(less than an inch longer than the hallowed 2400mm chassis used in all the 3-liter GT cars...)
    it-a 538- uses 90mm tubes, not 80mm tubes... as a 539 uses(FYI)
There ARE a number of LWB SA chassis cars which were made, but they look funky, and thus did not sell well...the market had spoken...
Thus, it was an instantly suitable steed for the 163 motor class of 4 liter specials...(NOT LMBs)...look carefully...look at David Clarkes book, look CAREFULLY at the frame pictures...its all there....you just need to look....or as is more commonly found, just need to know WHAT to look for...
the only problem was the mounting for the block in relation to the head piece caused unanticipated problems when trying to retro engineer 168/128F/d/or e blocks into any of these specials at a later time in life..
