I see you first asked about this car in November 2014... So where is this chassis allegedly for sale, and who is offering it? -Ed
Not long after this car was spotted in pieces in June of 2000, I was told that those pieces had included a completely new body and chassis. If true, then there might not be much of the original 10771 in the car currently being offered with that chassis number.
Hah, in fact all three posts about 10771, so maybe the guy owned it at one time or perhaps this is marketing?
Marketing is right. It turns out that this is previously-banned user andales79 (Antonio Andales), who was given a six month ban for trying to sell cars on this site, and then a permanent ban for registering under a different username in order to circumvent the original ban. More can be found about him here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-ferrari-market/221472-mystery-europa-gt-sale.html He has now been perma-banned once again.
I was offered the car about 2 years ago, and at this time I had gotten the same information. The owner at this point in time was a well-known Italian collector, whose other cars were also "storied", to say the least.
In the past three years I got about ten individual inquiries about this "Ferrari", from all sorts of dealers, merchants, brokers, "collectors" and the like. All I would like to say right now is please STAY AWAY (from that car I mean). Marcel Massini
#10771 seems to be still alive. How, I don't know all exactly at the moment but am due to get further infos soon. Already have got pics of the undergoing restoration project, but not from before... Would like to get pics that can certify what has been stated about that car pls. It's been counsciously destroyed on the web. Would like pics that can prove all that I've read. Thank you very much .
Yes Dave, I've read what did state Marcel, but I've never seen any pic of that car when "crashed". So...
Sorry guys, the situation of 10771 seems to be slightly different than the one the Owner told me... However, if I could get some pics of crashed 10771 for making sure ? And infos aobut the provenance of the rest....
So you have 2 choices; 1. Rely on the known charlatan Andales. 2. Heed the advice of perhaps the best-positioned expert to advise anyone on these matters. Choose wisely and enjoy your weekend! Dave
Dave, I don't know Andales, and don't know what he said. I'm in touch with other people in France who knew the car when crashed. And now, I understand better why the current Owner (since 2001) did not want me to phone to Classiche and gave me the infos only in very few quantities.
