John: If you believe what Fred has recently stated, the build sheet for this car will have "very detailed records" including details of the person who placed the order with Automobili Lamborghini SpA, details of the Concessionaire who accepted the order, details of the production of the car including date of build commencement, details of the car's livery including paint and leather code numbers, details of production markings/stampings for chassis/body/engine, details of engine & transmission including details of engine specification and recorded dyno-tested performance output for this car's engine, details of brand and specification of electrical hydraulic & mechanical components used in this car's construction, details of brand & specification of wheels & tires used in this car's manufacture, details of completion date, details of date of testing and test driver's rectification notes, details of rectification items and completion date, and details of delivery date to the proud owner.

As with you, Id love to see same published right here in this thread, in support of the "very detailed records" that Fred claims Lamborghini kept.

Fred, you suggested that Lamborghini kept "very detailed records".

I say two simple words: prove it.

Post a factory build sheet of any Lamborghini right here and lets decide if indeed they did... if they did, then, great!

    "Very detailed records" indeed..

By the way your page contains obsolete contact information.

Does anybody possess a 350/400 GT factory build sheet they can post here for us to see? Then we can see if it measures up to being "very detailed" as I described above, and as is possible with some other manufacturers. Or perhaps a Certificate of Origin? Some manufacturers have very detailed Certificates of Origin issued on the completion date in order to documents the car's final delivery specification....

    Hi Joe,

    Let's decide?

Look Joe, there's nothing to decide, so don't be holding your breath.

I mean, it's not a "if Joe says it's ok, then it's ok" sort of thing. That's not how real history works...I'm sure you realize that. (at least I hope so)

    Cheers,

    Fred

Yeah, well, whatever Joe. That's what they sent me for my car, 655.

Contact info changes all the time...I've given up trying to keep it current! :)

But... but.... what about the "very detailed records" that YOU say Lamborghini kept? Are our hopes to be dashed oh-so-soon? We have waited with bated breath since you uttered that infamous statement and many have whispered by PM: "Can it be true? Is it so? Are there detailed records of my car lying at San't Agata as Fred proclaims?" Please don't give up Fred. If you say they are there, we have to believe you.

For a couple minutes, at least...

Look, seriously, I KNOW I put people's nose out-of-joint simply by telling it the way it is, but I'm sticking to my premise that Lamborghini DID NOT keep detailed records...I would be absolutely delighted if you can prove that wrong right here. Until then, this fact is a very elementary thing to know about Lamborghini's history, especially for someone who professes to know a lot about Lamborghini's history :)

Meanwhile I'm having a tough time letting go of the "very detailed records" thing you've stated in another thread, so I will wait patiently for you to post evidence of same. I would still like to see people post their build sheets right here for us to collectively (not just me Fred) evaluate if they are detailed.

Honestly, I had always thought it was WELL KNOWN that Lamborghini did not keep detailed records in the original era (1963 to 1980).

An original Lamborghini Certificate of Origin.

It does not even tell you what color they used... engine number? Whatever you like.

But, hey, at least it tells you what year the car was built.

I mean, in life you cant have everything.

    lol!

Joe, you are really a.... um.... well, I'll get back to you on that. :)

Now, I posted that info you claim doesn't exist and I see what happened -- you had the thread deleted. I can't find it anywhere.

So, because you deleted the info, I will repost for the folks here. Why? Because I am a nice guy...and that's the only reason.

Man alive Joe, I can't even imagine having to work with you on a daily basis. It must be trying for those around you.

    Cheers,

    Fred

Nope I was as surprised as you that that thread was deleted as I had some eloquent responses in there. I didnt delete it. The mods must have thought it was unnecessary - there you go with more assumptions.

Dont worry, every important relationship I have has existed successfully for multiple decades, and those who really know me say Im just a sweetheart, but, I DO make special exceptions :)

Bottom line, Im saying you were wrong and I will gladly defer to you if you can prove otherwise as everybody benefits if Lamborghini did indeed keep "very detailed records" and we can all discover same with your guidance...

    Wrong again :)

I got it off ILR, and he supplied it to Glen directly.

ok, so all of you from the vlg remember Aaron and his 400GT 2+2 #1138, here it is back around 2002 or so (he since sold it):

    http://www.400gt.com/misc/1138/400GT_2+2_1138.jpg

He sent me the build sheet he got from the factory. What they used to do is just xerox the cover of the full build sheet and send it out to the owner of the car:

    http://www.400gt.com/misc/1138/400gt_doc.jpg

That's what the factory sent him.

If you throw that into photoshop, adjust brightness/contrast and do a mirror flip, you get this:

    http://www.400gt.com/misc/1138/400gt-doc1.jpg

Those of you who read Italian can probably make out some details, like the car had a Bosch alternator.

I think the factory got sick of folks asking for the rest of the build sheet, so some time after this -- and by the time I got mine -- they went over to retyping the info on a clean sheet, as you can see on the bottom of this link:

    http://www.400gt.com/data_sheets/build_sheets/index.html

Now, to try and anticipate Joe's response :-D

I didn't make up that stuff behind the cover page. That's from the factory, so there's none of this "let Joe decide" stuff going on here.

    ~Fin~

    Fred

PS: Joe, don't you have some other thread to get back to? ;^D

    Very importante!

Since #0101 was crashed and does no longer excist,
#0102 is the oldest production Lamborghini there is!

    A highlight of Lamborghini history!!!!

    Ciao!
