I’ve seen it on the registry too. It’s probably VIN #0892 with engine #0890 a car which started his career as a bleu notte in Italy. Beside the information from the registry I’ve never seen any further information about the car.

Yes it is. Originally LHD but converted to RHD at an early stage.

I was wondering about that, Kevin, since it seems to have left the factory as LHD -- so converted in Australia? I know there were shops in England converting as well.

Fred, the car was discussed last year on VLG and the conversion was probably done in 1970-1971. The interior picture above shows that the handbrake is still on the passenger side!

    Hi Craig,

I remember discussing this with GTCP -- and they said all the Miura tuners basically had springs they would cut to get different advance curves. So it's kind of a trial/error using a Sun Distributor Machine.

Just thought I'd throw that out there :)

Hi Fred, this looks like an ebay photo! Are there more you can send me or post?
Yes, these appear original with hinge on right panel, pins on left, metal grommets, riveted pull tab, bound carpet

Ah...maybe it is. This is 1354 (I think) -- the last 400GT2+2 made.

That was the only carpet shot. You mean you want the other photos of the car? (which was in pieces)

I mostly done with body work on my 400gt and I am now down to a few details such as gaping, lines etc...
Can someone tell me how close is the upper door jam trim to the edge of the roof line?I have seen as much as 1/8" gap.Could someone take a photo of theirs? I am trying to figure out if I should get mine near the roof line or keep a gap.

    Thanks for your help!
Here are a few photos of the work in progress.

    Hi Jacques,

    Nice work!

    I don't have my car in front of me...but here's a photo:

    http://www.400gt.com/misc/DSCN6116c.jpg

I think "really close" is one answer, so I'm thinking 1/8" is about right, maybe less.

But also notice how it flows into the rear "wind-wing" side window. So it seems like maybe that could help guide you?

    Cheers,

    Fred

It seems that the valve/cam covers on most if not all 400GTs were painted black (textured / wrinkle finish). But what about 350GTs? From all the pics I've looked at half are black and half are silver - what is period correct??

I've never worked on a 350, not sure which spark plug they use.

    On my 400GT 2+2 I'm running Bosch Super Cu-Electrode W 7 DC, 0-241-235-602-80U, 7500, gapped to .032.

I am just curious as to how many 400gt came equipped with dual wipers?Anyone on the forum with such a rare breed?

From what I can tell dual wipers was for American Federalizing. Which is weird, because my car has a single wiper and is a Kaplan (US) car.

    ie: it's a mess. :)

well, I agree it's a mess as there is no reasonnable explanation...
but Paolo Stanzani told me in fact some suppliers produces more than ordered by factory... than the overstocks have been eliminated progressivly through the production... like the body valence with one single wiper instead of 2...

Yes I'm confirming you that bodypanels were pre-formed and then adjusted on each Superleggera shelf !!!
