I have a 19.000Kms 365BB fr 1974 I wonder if its possible to find out more about it. Its the only one delivered in Oro Kelso. Chinetti should have ordered it from The begining. Serial is 18261 Thanks! Patrik Gudmundsäter Image Unavailable, Please Login
For comparison this Dino is the oro kelso paint color that the GT/4 BB was painted. Pictures by omgjon> Rare colors are often popular with some collectors. Does the BB now have the cloth or leather seats? Maybe the color is Nocciola for the BB? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
NONE of the 365 GT4 BB's was originally painted Oro Kelso. 18261 was originally painted Oro CHIARO 106-Y-129 with Beige VM 3218 interior. The original engine of 18261 was later installed in chassis #18211 (sold to Qatar). The original owner of 18261 was Mr. Walker in USA. Marcel Massini
So you mean that it is a repainted non matching numbers 19000 (?) kms car I tried to buy last year? /L Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So it might be Oro ciaro then? But what proof do you have about the Engine? It was newer registered in the USA as far as i know. It has rarely been driven in 27 years.
Sounds that way according to the comment sent by Marcel. He even lists where the original motor went. His detailed records for factory paint color and interior specification are an amazing resource! He notes Mr Walker as an American being the first owner. This to is interesting as the factory did not officially import the Boxer into the USA market. There were some cars imported privately sometimes called 'gray market' models. They were converted to USA government standards before they could be registered for street use. This included modifying the bumpers and adding side marker lights and engine modifications to comply with the smog standards. If the boxer was never registered it could be that it has never been modified to meet USA government standards which would be a plus today. Oro Chiaro translates as 'clear gold' for the color name.
You can see this car had been DOT modified at some point which would jive with having an american owner.
It "might" not be. It IS Oro Chiaro. As for the engine, that is listed in the factory records. How about posting a photo showing the internal engine number? Marcel Massini
Open the rear lid. On top of engine, center area. VERY easy to see. Sample photo here, of another 365 GT4 BB. @raymond: Please let me know what the internal number on 17725 is, thank you. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
