Tacky name and tacky looks. A very unattractive "special edition" I'm afraid... Just my very humble opinion of course.
Exactly. They could write: "The owner of this car is a tosser" in Ferrari script down the side of a car and people would pay more for it. They honestly have a license to print money. Pete
This car is IMO unnecessary and unattractive. They could have done better if they wanted to do something special. They could have actually made something special. They might be crossing the line between limited unit variants and watering the 599 platform down. GTO was the top of the 599 line. Leave it.
What are we looking at in the spyshots on page 4? It can't be this car. There's nothing new for bodywork.

From what I've heard the new 599 will take it's styling cues from the 458 and FF which these renderings suggest. It doesn't square up with Peter's comments however about the new model following the look of the 8C though so these pics may well be wrong. Looks like someone went little P-Shop crazy on this silly rendering. I think this one's called the 59FF'dUpIfornia.
Why does Ferrari keep trying to tweak the 599 when they should be trying to design a complely new replacement 12 cyl and get on with the production of the 458 spider which is the car many of us want at this time. I love my car but would never move up one notch. I want an all new car and have been standing around for two years, getting older all the time, while I wait for a new spider.Should have kept my 430S even if it meant keeping two F cars while I wait...wait....and wait for a car that may already be old news by the time I get it. I've had Ferraris' since 1984 and this company never fails to leave me hanging while I patiently wait for a car that has a replacement already designed by the time I get it. Even Apple gives you a brief honeymoon before the next model hits the market , and when it does you don't have to wait long to be the proud owner of the latest, greatest.
Well the new Ferrari designer specifically doesn't like retro so perhaps the 599 replacement will be a more bold effort. As for the FF it seems that one was pretty much finished by the time he arrived on board at Ferrari. He had little influence regarding that design. What he has done in the past ( a Golf or some such thing) doesn't inspire much confidence, however. The 458 was a good solid 3 bagger but Ferrari hasn't hit one out of the park in a long time... CH
It won't look like this. If the car was an evolution ala 360/430 I'd say maybe. But I think the car is going in a totally different direction.
I think it will look like a 599 with the 458 front end styling (lights). I think it will look amazing, but beyond the front and rear lights (with matching curves), it will be similar to the 599. I am sure it will be amazing.
I see some mules wearing California headlights and the camo'd cars look like FF/458 headlights. Personally i feel the California lights go great on the 599 body. With a little tweaking they'd look awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the 458s lights otoh. Which will adorn the front of this new car?
