It does appear to be a 3-liter Turbo based on the 2993cc engine capacity. Could be the real deal - a Martini edition 3-liter Turbo.

    Just a note guys,
I am almost completely sold out of the black graphics (1 left) and have a few more of the white (7). I hadn't planned on making more due to the complexity and time involved. If there is enough interest I may do it again. If you would like them, my email is [email protected].

    Let me know.

Can anyone tell me why some US cars had passenger side mirrors and others did not? Is this reflected in the COA? Was this only the case on the most early 76 cars? I am perplexed why it is sometimes the case and other times not.

It depends on the model year, and in the intervening 40 years, owners have changed/added mirrors to their cars.

For all North American (aka US) 930's the passenger mirror was an option through the 1979 Model Year. The CoA should list the passenger mirror if it came with the car. When the 930 returned to the US market in 1986 it was standard equipment.

And, very true, many changed/added mirrors to the early 930's.

Martini & Rossi and Porsche AG released a joint press release for the two Turbo Carreras entered at the 24 hours of Le Mans, June 15th and 16th, 1974. The press release included two B&W photos of Martini Porsches at the Nürburgring.

There’s an interesting passage in the press release on the uncertainty of turbocharged engines in endurance racing…

“The Porsche technicians will be anxious to see whether or not the 2,1 litre Turbo charged cars are capable of lasting the full 24 hours.”

At the 1974 Le Mans, the Turbo Carrera of Gijs van Lennep and Herbert Müller finished second, robbed of an outright victory due to the loss of 5th gear at hour 20. The 2nd place finish of van Lennep and Müller would begin an impressive record of turbocharged Porsche finishes at Le Mans. The following year there were no factory turbocharged cars but a sole production-class 1975 930 Turbo finished 15th. This was followed by an unbroken record of Le Mans finishes, and in some cases outright victories, in turbocharged 934s, 935s, 936s, 956s, 962s, and 911 GT1.

One of the biggest Classic Events in Germany, Stuttgart last week. Many, many Porsches but not a single Turbo 3.0 to be found. Looks like they've all been found and absorbed by collectors.

Let's see what Techno Classica brings next week. I'm going!

Wow, his wife is easier going than mine, I asked to park the 930 in the living room, and my wife, being completely unreasonable, said no!

Perhaps in the living room due to the broken rocker arm mentioned in the description.

Nice images of Magnus Walker's RHD '75 Turbo posted in an online article by Larry Chen on Speedhunters. From an interior photo, you can see the slender end of the turn signal/dimmer lever for the 1975 model year Turbos. In 1976, the steering column lever ends changed becoming wider and longer, and the intermittent wiper control went from a knob on the dash to the right steering column lever. If the steering wheel is original, it would give some insight to the production date since it's the version used on all but the very early production 1975 Turbos with the hub-centric wheels.

The 930/50 engine looks remarkably original although the driver's side snorkel headlight washer is for the opposite side.

Are Magnus' periscopes mounted opposite? That is also some strange looking dash stitching.

I've sat in Magnus' 1975 Turbo. It's in very good condition.

The original colour was Sepia Brown (I think) the guards red is a respray.

Not sure if the interior was ever redone but it's in excellent condition

Driver’s (RHD side) is a left side snorkel but the other side looks correct. The dash pad is a 1977+ so it is not the original 1975 Turbo speaker dash pad.

Sepia brown would be very cool. The entire interior was redone and is not period correct for a 1975 model year (except for the sport seats that Magnus installed).

Looks like Magnus will be busy if he goes back to factory delivered spec. Some mods make sense but color change from brown to red? Well maybe it's just that desire parameters change over the years, besides red has always been popular, brown not so, and RHD is pretty rare, so to sell brown and buy red may not have been very doable at that time. Neat car no matter what. 930s seem to be his next fatal Porsche attraction. Go Magnus.

I also see there is no beading between the chin spoilers highest edge and the front 1/4 panel? Is this missing? or is it normal for an early car?

The fuel filter seems to sit at 90 degrees to mine as well?

I've only see the fatty hub-centric steering wheel on GLP 870N. Only the very early 1975 Turbos would have this wheel.
