But stelvio qf is supposedly getting awd and 500 hp
Not from the Maserati parts bin, at least not yet! But that's a damn good idea along with a very sophisticated chassis control system. The Alfa and Maserati engines are very different looking. But I think a 500 hp Ghibli spec'd out with the right interior would be pretty nice. But neither it or the QP are exciting to look at because they're practical people movers so sexy is secondary.
saw one yesterday on the freeway. It was a manufacturer plate, but it really wasn't amazing looking at all.
Wonder how qf will compare to jeep trackhawk? Jeep will have 200 more hp but probably weigh another 750 lbs. Configurable awd from 50-50 to 30-70 is pretty cool. Both about $80k. Will be interesting...
The Stelvio is on the Giulia chassis so it's going to handle a lot better. The one thing Alfa did right about the Giulia is the chassis and steering. Best in it's class. Also, (and I'm assuming here the Stelvio has the same wheel as the Giulia) the steering wheel feel is straight out of the 458. In a word -- awesome.
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Priced at $42,990 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Priced Competitively at $42,990 » AutoGuide.com News The standard 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque, leading its class. The base Stelvio starts at $42,990. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and will take the Stelvio to 60 mph from a standstill in 5.4 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 144 mph. The base model comes standard with Alfa DNA drive mode selector, class-exclusive carbon fiber driveshaft, dual exhaust with bright tips, 18-inch aluminum wheels, leather seating, bi-xenon headlights with signature LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, backup camera with rear park sensors, remote start, passive entry with Keyless Go, power liftgate and a Formula One-inspired flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated push button start. Stelvio buyers can also opt for the available Sport Package, which adds 19-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, steering column-mounted aluminum paddle shifters, sport steering wheel, genuine aluminum accents, gloss black window trim surround, black roof rails, aluminum sport pedals and footrest, colored brake calipers and more. Also available is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
So figure around $50-54k for a TI Sport with NAV, sunroof, upgraded stereo and blind spot monitors. Alfa is quoting 5.4 seconds 0-60, probably a little conservative as they have proven to be lately...have to figure around 5.2 which is not far off from the Giulia 5.0. Not bad for a 2l 4cyl. Decisions decisions, it will be nice to have some choices to make next summer.

Some interesting competition in this segment. Stelvio qf vs macan gts vs amg glc coupe v6 and v8. And through in bmw x4 msport and jeep hellcat. All around $80k, similar size, awd, performance, style, etc. I will be in market for one next year and have no idea which to get
i looked at gla few yrs ago when it 1st came out. fun test drive but lease was 1000/m for what seemed like a nice vw gti. too small for me. glc coupe might just be in my sweet spot. would love that pdk trans in the macan though
