as stated throughout this thread we all want an Italian alternative to the 3-series/A4. That spider shown above is stunning but a 159 replacement is what we need here in the USA...
Nothing really new other than this from alfamaven. I hope it's ready early enough to catch the 2013 Detroit and Chicago Auto Shows. quote: "As I've written several times before, the naysayers are WRONG. Alfa tooling is now going into the Toledo works for the compact CUV leading off the Alfa return in early to mid 2013. It will get the powertrain from the 4C and an AWD option. Bodywork is slightly stretched and modified giuilietta on the C-US Wide platform. Exhaust tuning is by Mopar in 409 stainless with an italian tone. this combination should qualify for cloverleaf status. It will be on the 2013 auto show circuit. Save your money now. I am. BTW it is fitted with runflat tires which are garbage. There is no jack or spare. I am going to refuse them and use suv tires and fluid plastic tire sealant." On another note, the Dodge Dart production is ramping up now for sales to start soon in N.A. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2013-Chicago March 2013
I had the chance to drive my cousins Giulietta 1.6 JTDM last year in Italy and truly loved it. The car had fantastic handling and ride and a great driving position. The quality of the plastics was also very good. As for the whole Alfa debacle and being sold.....it won`t happen. Marchionne is very bright and knows what sells and doesn`t. He understands the Italian culture and mentality, while understanding the importance of North America and is trying to incorporate the best of both worlds. I hope Alfa doesn`t end up being part of Volkswagen. The idea of a Giulietta with the 2.0TFSI bores me to death. Not to mention failed coilpacks, worn bushings, burnt lightbulbs, O2 sensors and much more
Thanks T. I'm curious to see the reviews on the dart 1.4 T. There is allegedly a kit that takes that engine to 200 hp. Hopefully it will handle like an alfa...

More on the 4C, wich looks to be the second Alfa released in the USA starting in 2014. "In an announcement, Maserati said it will produce a new Alfa Romeo model at its Modena plant from May 2013, with an estimated annual production of up to 2,500 units. While Maserati did not name the Alfa Romeo model in its press statement, a company source told Autonews Europe that it will be the 4C, which has been previewed as a concept at last year's Geneva Salon. The 4C is a lightweight, two-seater sports coupe powered by a mid-mounted 1.75-liter turbocharged engine driving the rear wheels, and is believed to be the first(wrong) Alfa Romeo model to arrive in the United States. Company sources said that the 4C will be priced at around 50,000 (US$65,800) in Europe, but we still don't know how much it will cost in the U.S. and other markets around the world." http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/04/maserati-to-build-alfa-romeo-4c-at-its.html

Per June Car & Driver mag the Alfa-sourced Dodge Dart appears to be a game changer in terms of vehicle dynamics in that class...first impressions appear to be very positive. Would love to see a 235 hp version of this car.
Not suprised.......I drove my cousin`s Giulietta and found it to be very well made. It had excellent handling dynamics and feel.
Yikes! That is quite a bit more expensive that earlier estimates I had been reading. I was thinking the 4C was going to be in the $40-$50K range. At around that price, assuming it looks close to the concept, I was really thinking about ordering one. At $65-$70K, there are a lot of other things I think I'd rather have. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/16/alfa-romeo-4c-speeds-into-production-with-45-000-price-tag/ http://www.caranddriver.com/news/alfa-romeo-4c-concept-from-the-geneva-auto-show-news
