A nice article with link to Sotheby's lot. Making the case for Seventies style: a Ferrari 400i gets set for auction through RM Sotheby's
Preaching to the choir here, I would say. Still, it's nice to see our babies getting some love in the press for a change. Thank you for sharing.
Great article- thanks for sharing. The interesting thing that it gets wrong, is that all of the original reviews in all of the period magazines gave the car extremely positive reviews. The auto journalists of the day understood the purpose of the car and were liberal with their praise of it's performance.
True. There was a particularly excellent article about the 400i by LJK Setright in Car (August 1984) - he even wrote a poem to the car!
I saw this car at the auction preview drinks tonight. I didn't take a long look, but it did seem like a particularly clean example, a great colour combo, and rather stood out among the endless 911s. I don't own one, but have long hankered after a manual 412!
Pricing very much in line with Hagerty index. Prices have clearly levelled out but are holding up none the less. This would have hammered in the low £20s three years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
