Since we have a thread going about the things that bug us about the 458, maybe we should count our blessings and talk about the things we love. I'll go first: The exhaust note this car makes is orgasmic!
Probably too many to mention but l will try. 1. 9,000 rpm is heaven. 2. My spider you can put the rear window down and hear that fantastic n/a engine music ith the top up, even when it's raining. 3. The sports diff makes the car swivel. No understeer or oversteer. Fantastic. 4. Bumpy road button can be used in any mode...race, sport, etc. automatic br when in wet mode. 5. Not only does the car show the pressure in each tire, it shows the temperature. 6. Shutting off is easy. Just put your foot on the brake and turn off the key in first or reverse. Automatically puts in Park. 7. Heated seats, electric mirrors with memory, electric retrackting mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, rear backup camera. 8. Everything works. 9. Built in battery tender. 10. Audio controls on the back of the steering wheel. 11. Can unplug the vacuum lines so the baffles stay open all the time. Fantastic sound at any rpm. 12. Hard to find a sports car convertible with a hard top roof. 13. 28k miles no squeaks or rattles. 14. 99% of the people love the looks. 15. Most fun l have ever had with my clothes on.
Pretty much every milestone the 458 represents is orgasmic for me. But here are my personal highlights: - Last 2 seater V8 with a key. - Last 2 seater V8 by Pininfarina. - Last naturally aspirated V8. - First Ferrari revving up to 9200rpm. - First Ferrari V8 to have a top speed that cracks the 200mph barrier (from the official Ferrari website. According to the same source: F40 - 197mph and F430 Scuderia - 198mph). - Record for a naturally aspirated engine in terms of horsepower per liter. And the "créme de la créme": - Interior layout featuring input from Michael Schumacher!!! - Aeroelastic winglets!!! - Three tailpipe exhaust, paying tribute to the F40!!! - That sound... Kind regards, Nuno.
How about everything? I am just thrilled with every aspect of it. I just wish the annoying woman's voice wouldn't come on after every Waze announcement while hooked to Bluetooth saying "phone call completed"

I love that it has a dual personality. Calm and composed in sport mode with exhaust in stock mode, windows up, stereo on. An animal in race mode, windows down, exhaust valves open, and gas pedal 3/4 or more.
^ i never thought the car had a dual personality. it never seems calm to me. the throttle response is just to direct.
Just upshift. It seems silly on a car like this, but if you are just relaxing and not really in the mood to "drive", keep the rpm's down low, the throttle isn't nearly as jumpy.
Agree. I went from a 430 to a 458 and there is no looking back. 488's rev too quickly to a lower redline for me. Oh....and the sound!!!
even then the car does not feel natural or calm. that car just wants to go. definitely not a cruiser.
I have not posted here in many years and just stumbled onto this thread, thanks for the posts! Very helpful
A car built at Ferrari's pinnacle in terms of NA engine and chassis design without governmental regulations handicapping the soul and performance of the car. As my friend a renowned automotive journalist said just last year, it is a "Moment in time" car when every star aligned then and never again, and probably never will.
