Re-assembly begins. Dry sump tank was "modified" to clear testarossa alternator mounting boss on timing cover. There's a better solution thats pretty easy which Ill outline later. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This one will be VHT spray because there will have to be a certain amount of fibreglass filler to make it perfect and with economical sense. Powder is what I do them with otherwise but I'm not sure the oven will do the filler any good in this case.
I am considering powder for mine but the OEM is wrinkle finish so I may just VHT mine too. My supplier has a nice textture finish powder but it can't match that maze look of the wrinkle finish Probably not Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow. This is the first time I have seen this thread, or the previous ones. I think I remember this car from Norwood's in 2000-2002. I KNOW I remember seeing it on EBAY in 2007. I had my 308 for almost a year then. I though, if I sell everything I own I could possibly afford that car. I would have been sorely mistaken. Aaron
A few things to clean up before re-installing. Typical over-spray on items that weren't removed and the anodized drip rails were painted red at one point then black over that! They can be made to look like new again with a little effort. Mice seem to love the trunk material in these cars, I've seen it before. The forward spare tire well isn't factory so it never got the material the rest of the trunk did. Recovered the trunk area only where needed. Love the clear signal lights on the black. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The area ahead of the trunk leaves a little to be desired where the original spare tire well wall once was. Ill quickly tidy it up by removing the left over pieces so it doesn't attract attention. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ill be replacing the horizontal grill slats (for obvious reasons) with ones that would be used in an injected grill which are shorter but with carb'd fan cut outs....so a grill that never existed but its what we need to get the look John is aiming for not to mention function. Ill be using injected fog lights. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hear from M/C guys not to powder coat air cooled cylinders because it holds the heat in. Unlike paint? So is powder coating dry sump tank mater. I know TR has oil coolers, and mine never runs hot.
Coating vs paint on the tank won't matter but on an air cooled cylinder I can see that. Something else that has an effect is the colour. How true it is I'm not sure but trade school taught us that black engines ran cooler than orange ones not to mention how thick it's applied.
Test fitting engine bay panels before cleaning up the tanks and firewall. Will install the engine and fabricate mounts before the panels go in so they don't get a mark on them. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

It's an acronym for Tender Loving Care. When used with regard to automobiles it probably best translates to "extra special attention".
