When was the last time this car came out of hiding? Legend has it that it was at Pebble Beach sometime during the past two decades and a judge told the person showing the car that the cam covers shouldn't be crackle black. The guy left the show in fury, tires spinning and grass shredding. john
1973 at Pebble Beach. 3rd in class, 1.5 points behind the winner. The driver that tore up the apron behind the 18th green was the restorer, not Mr. Day the owner.
This is #0450AM, now rebodied by Scaglietti and in the Schlumpf collection in France. See here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188574&highlight=ferrari+0450AM
This thread needs clarification: 0378 AM: Blue/tan. Originally delivered to Enrico Wax. Recognizable by aluminum trim strips along the sides. 0450 AM: Blue/red. Originally delivered to Emperor Bao Dai. Since rebodied similar to single-louver TdF. 0460 AM: Yellow/green. Originally delivered to Williamine Day.
Faute de grives...ca veut dire quoi? Tu m etonnes.... Thanks John for the little story.... nobody gets a pictures of this car, or others information in your entourage?
Right, thank you. Here is a photo with #0460AM from a Road&Track magazine (1956) cover. There is also an article in Cavallino magazine n°69. But where is #0378AM today? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wait wait wait.....You mean is not 0378 but 0450?...............................Sacrebleu! are you SUR? you mean that car is in TDF version in Schlumpf collection like Giotto said in his post...
So the 375 MM blue / red shows by Willy B is #0450 and this car doesn t exist in this version...today it s a TDF......(Merde 2 fois) so Mr Bao Dai, gets 2 375 MM and 0378 is MIA... What else?
Yes, 0450 AM is ex-Bao Dai (as in the blue/red model posted by Willy B) and is today bodied similar to TdF. 0378 not to Bao Dai. As far as I'm aware, 0378 AM is MIA. Certainly someone knows of its whereabouts.
ok, thanks for clarification...Bao Dai gets only 1 and not 2 (as i imagine) 375MM. i think we can closed this thread, and open a another one for discuting about sn 0378? what do you think?
Don't need to actually close this one - we can leave it open for discussion on 0450 AM. Go ahead and start another thread on 0378.
Here is another photo that I took some years ago. The interior of Bao-Daï's #0450AM. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i m really desappointed to learn that is a reconversion car, i imagine i will have never a picture about this car in spyder version.... looking more informations about the Family probably it s possible to find something? Wayne, i prefered open a new thread for all spyder version, Fchat start to be complicate for the multiples threads, i prefer concentrate informations in one thread. also if the 0378 is MIA is also a berlinetta not really what i m expected starting this thread. Cheers
On the engine cover and trunk lid of 0450AM there is a sign which I suspect is still related to Bao-Dai. Any other suggestions? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
