Newman you dominate this section like a pitbull if anyone disagrees with you lol, no one wants to play in your sandbox anymore. Dynomat for Boxers ha ha This site sucks now its going downhill with this new look too bright need sunglasses to view it who cares.
Ok Newman bald bast ard lol yeah Years from now when they bring the turds you supposedly restored for work the real shops that know what they are doing will say oh it's a Newman car we need to dismantle it and un do all the improvements he did lol. Dynomat
Cheap TR soon but now one can dream fool and money soon go opposite way buy high price close eye hope for best
Seriously I need sunglasses to view page then puke red most are not gonna bother to get old look this just hurts to look at
I wonder if the new platform has a "DAMN, I was drunk!!" 24-hour post delete option, instead of the old site's 30 minute (or whatever it was). LOL - new forum kills the correct spellings of "dam n", but not "fakk".
Hey Jeff, why did you change your name from JPsarti? Oh wait......I remember.....You were banned (shocker), thats what happened. Never mind the question
What's cheaper ? And by how much are we talking about ? Isn't the dynomate used as an insulation for road noise ? If an owner wants it during a restore I don't see it as being an issue.
well stated, so trying to understand , this is NOT a restoration but a resto job or resto mod of some sort.
I never used Dynomat, Was told there were cheaper alternatives. I don't know of any. But the dynomat concept would seem better than some of the original insulation.
I've looked, but DAMN is closed and open cell insulation material expensive. Dynamat is probably at the top in terms of cost though. I'd be curious about life cycle, esp when placed in areas that are a real PITA to access. One area of sound abatement that gets little notice is the wheel wells, most modern vehicles have a lined wheel well that deadens the sound of gravel spray, amazing how much noise the tires make kicking up debris.
Dynomat is heavy adds coniderable weight, it will numb down the noises and vibrations of the car if you have a Cadillac maybe a good thing but was never used in a Boxer from the factory. When it gets old it's gonna get hard and crack apart. Dynomat is a product used by 60s muscle car guys for its insulation properties they could care less about weight or numbing down engine noises. This is Newmans background muscle cars and as a Ford Mechanic for a Dealer. Self proclaimed Ferrari Consulatant expert lol. That's fine if he wants to restore these cars but IMO a experienced restorer that's not self taught and has apprenticed under masters for many years would never add Dynomat to a classic Ferrari that's appreciating and originality is important.
My Maserati GT has carpet like wheel well liners. Might help with sound but they are a pain to clean and grass. etc stick to them
Newman started out fixing Fords. But It would be hard to find a better Ferrari mechanic! His attention to detail and knowledge is top shelf.
So what, it takes years of experience to reach a journeyman level under master Ferrari technicians to understand proper restoration techniques it's not something that's self taught that you can become a Expert Consultant lol on then by learning on someone's car. Putting dynamat is all I need to know about ones judgement or expertise with its huge American Logo on it in the panels plus the added 40lbs . Lol.
I'm sorry but you are so miss informed. You do understand the Ferrari factory itself certified a kit car?
