About 10 years ago, I took these pictures of a LWB California Spider at the AACA fall show in Hershey, PA (sorry for the poor quality of the pics - they're pictures of pictures). The owner (or perhaps just the restorer tending to the car at the show, I don't remember which) told me that the car had been previously owned by a dictator in South America, who had been executed in the car by his political opposition. As a result, he said, the car was viewed as something of a pariah by the locals and they were able to obtain it relatively cheaply. He also said that, during the restoration, bullets were recovered from one of the inner door panels, lending credence to the execution story. This seems like an incredible story although, given the source, I imagine it has at least some truth. Can anyone provide any additional information? Many thanks.

The car is 1503 GT and the story about being murdered in the car is true as far as I know. I don't beleive Dr. Otto Rodriguez Vincentini was ever a dictator, however.

This car recently sold at RM Sotheby's "Ferrari – Leggenda e Passione" auction at Ferrari S.p.A. Modenese, 41042, on September 9, 2017 for €7.855.000.

Tragic about the young Dr. who was murdered in the car.
