Milwaukee concours will not do anything for the Ferrari 70th??
You would think they would. I am waiting to see the entry list. Anyway, I also plan on going out to PB and Laguna Seca to visit friends. That looks like an event not to miss.
So another poor planing.. LFSC concours is on the same day as the Winnetka Fuel Fed Ferrari special (Sept 24th..). I will try to go to the Winnetka event early AM then make my way to LFSC.
Ha, whoops. I'll be at LFSC with the 458 though Anyone heading up to the Road America for the Challenge?
I just saw this post......It is setting up for the Oshkosh EAA starting on July 24th. Sounds like an amazing year at the EAA event if you are into warbirds. They plan on having 2 B29's, a B52, B1, B2, B17, B24, B25's(12, yes 12), A20 ect. 3 P63's, a P39, Mustangs, Spitfires, Corsairs, Wildcats, Hellcats, P40's, P47's and hundreds of other warbirds. Boeing will also have a display. 2017 Warbirds in Review Program Schedule Image Unavailable, Please Login

Pretty nice day up at Road America in the morning and early afternoon. Some really interesting cars including several 1970 ETC cars. The factory 1973 Capri ran at Lemans and is just out of restoration(first race out) and is very well done. They even used the original plexiglass(polished out). Also the BMW Luigi CSL is perfectly restored and is the actual ETC championship winning car. There should be a 312PB showing up this weekend also to join the 512F/M. The Alfa T33/3 sounded great on the track as did the Jordan and Benetton F1 cars. A lot of pre turbo Cosworth F1 cars on the track also. I went to the airport in the afternoon about 4PM and saw 25 warbirds being set up to go to Oshkosh on Monday. The A1 Skyraider and B25 were very nice as were all the other aircraft. It started to rain at 5PM so I left as they stopped practicing. The modern DTM cars were also nice. The owner is from the Chicago area. Not cars, but the weather looks great from now until Sunday up at Airventure EAA Oshkosh. I am heading up tomorrow. A lot of warbirds up there this year. This is THE Pebble Beach for vintage aircraft, only they let you walk right up to the airplanes and take photos from sunrise to sunset!! Those two B29's and three P63's look great along with around 20 B25's and 30 P51's and several Bearcats. Total warbird count has to be several hundred. If you like new modern military it's up there also.
I emailed them asking if the B2/B52/F35 would be there on Saturday and would fly but they never got back to me
I will tell you what I see when I get back tomorrow. I know the B2 and B52 are going to be up there. I saw a F22 performing on a video from yesterday but not sure about the F35.
B1 and B52 on display. B2 to fly tomorrow. The F22 is amazing. If anyone goes they will not be disappointed. This thing is huge. It has the be the biggest or top 2 or 3 airshow in North America.
As this is a car thread I will throw in just a few photos of the EAA event. What a great show. It is massive in scale. I like warbirds and modern military but there is something for everyone. If you are in the market for a small to mid size airplane this show is the place to go as they have factory displays for every plane maker. Even Boeing, Airbus and Embraer have displays. Nice photos. You really have to go for 2 or 3 days to take it all in. I was burned out by 7PM the day I went. Did you see the F22?? Those Air Force pilots put on a great practice show on Friday. Can't believe those airplanes stay together with all that g-force. It's like they slam on the brakes in mid air and go straight up like a rocket.

Nice...Those look like different B1 and B52 aircraft than I saw. They must of had 2 sets. Also the F35 did not fly on Friday, just F22 and F15 practice. I really went for the B29's, but what a great lineup.
My favorite weekend up at Road America, the IMSA sportscar races with top quality cars. The weather looks great for this weekend up at Elkhart Lake. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This Sunday is also the Milwaukee Concours. I still don't have a list of cars for that event but a few good ones always show up. The following week is the Ferrari Challenge at Road America. Also Pebble Beach and the historical races are coming up in California to those who are interested. I prefer the historical races myself. Then the week after that is the Geneva Concours. Busy month!! Thanks Tom! I have been looking at the weather for the Milwaukee concours but have never been before. Hoping for no rain!
