make sure they install the orange painted aluminum needles - it is a permanent fix
Mike, consider restoring the gauge-cluster holding plate, and delete than non-original fuel sticker. If you are going to all this trouble, its the (noticeable) details that will make the difference between a good resto and a great one.
Joe, Don't worry- the instrument facia WILL be straightened and cleaned before it goes back in to the car.
PAS charged me $738.50 to service, clean, and recondition my instruments to appear "as new". ALL instruments were in working order. If your instrument(s) require repair the price could be higher.
The bodywork continues... We are presently doing a lot of metal work to achieve IMMACULATE shut lines. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
those cars look so good with-out flares or wings,i can still remember that org R/T OR C/D with the first countach on the cover,so clean
Hi Michael The fellow club members over at ********** suggested that I reach out to you since you were restoring/painting your Countach. I have an 84 Countach 5000s and for some reason when the rear emblems were removed, they had no posts on them and were glued to the panel with no holes on the panel. I imagine the rear panel was replaced at some point and replacements do not come with post holes? I would like to replace all of the emblems with the proper original Lamborghini, 5000 & S emblems which all have metal threaded posts with nuts to secure from inside of rear trunk. Can you please help me and take me some measurements of the hole locations of the emblems on the rear panel? I wanted to mount NEW OEM emblems in the exact locations and make the necessary holes for the posts in the panel. What would help me even more IF you were up for it, would be to take a piece of paper or cardboard the size of the rear panel and mark the hole locations with a marker from inside your trunk. Last question. On the disegno bertone badges on the side. What holds them in place? Circlips from inside the car? I do not believe that they just remove off grommets on the body. Hope you can help as your my last resort and no one else is in the body/paint stage with their 5000S Thanks Dave M
The Bertone badges have 2 posts and should have a star washer that affixes them to the car. I would give you the dimensions of my car but we are just finishing up the last details. I will see if I can find a picture less the badges.
Just found this image which may help, would measure for you but the car is having the last few details sorted at the moment. All of the badges as you state are bolted, I think there are 6 holes in total, 2 for each badge. Sorry the image is not so great but if you expand you can clearly see the holes. Hi Michael, since you're going to be where your car is. Can you kindly help me out with the door strut you said you would mail to me back in January. Thanks!
Went to body shop today. I would have picked it up, but they had it mounted on the car. I told them to remove it, and install the new ones that I provided. They assured be that they would have it for me the next time I am out there (Tuesday).

Thanks Michael, Please make sure whatever they do they don't throw the old ones away. You have been my only hope on having the exact ones recreated. By the way amazing work so far.
Are all clutch items on the picture brand new or refurbished? Did you replace the throw out bearing as well? Hopefully you did. Love this thread. When do you expect car to be road ready?
Clutch items are a combination of both. The clutch was actually in great shape with little wear, as it had been replaced very few Kms ago.. My main reason for going through it was for piece of mind. I got the uprated release bearing with stronger collar, I replaced the disc and had the pressure plate and flywheel refurbed; as they were just about perfect anyway. I replaced the clutch cylinder with a new one. I think the clutch should be GOOD TO GO for a long time
Road ready? That really comes down to the body shop....I have already rebuilt the suspension and brake sub assemblies, engine and gearbox are done, radiators are done, interior is done (it was already immaculate and just required a good detail). I am presently going through the fuel tanks, and will replace fuel pumps+ all hoses and gaskets. The body shop now plans to be done with their job in early July. If all goes without further delay, I would like to have it ready to bring to Monterey in August...
