The UK concessionaire came out with their own brochure, using a car in a photo-shoot at Syon Park. Image Unavailable, Please Login
USA spare parts book. At some point we should list ALL the differences between the 187-odd USA spec cars and the Eu/ROW cars Image Unavailable, Please Login
Period press. The LP400 looks svelte, almost dainty, perhaps even anemic beside the butch, muscular 25th! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

4 different versions of 'the brochure' do exist, as shown on this picture from Kaare's ilustrated list. The 'script' lettering is for the Euro versions, the 'blockletter' for the US versions. US versions have same contents and only color difference (black/blue) for the covers. Euro versions also have this (black/blue) color difference, but also differ in contents ! Don't forget the smaller size double sided sheet that was also available (20x15 cm size), originally as part of a set of 3 period sheets (also from Kaare's site) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Clarkson disparaged it, insulted it, maligned it, and hated it. But he secretly wanted one. When the Miura SV was launched, die-hards of the original concept said it was too fat. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Road & Track examined the 25th's improvements & sleeker lines over previous variants. But still, not everybody liked its styling! Image Unavailable, Please Login
A Countach for the jet-set. I recall the scramble to get one, and by late 1989 and early 1990, some changed hands for as much as $375,000. I know a gentleman collector who paid that price each for two, and still has one! In subsequent years, you could buy one for as cheap as $75,000. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wonder if believing there would be only 200 built had anything to do with people paying so much? I remember reading about the $ they were going for back then. Certainly the end of an icon! Much nervousness over whether the Diablo would have the same affect or would disappoint
I'm not sure. But I can say that they generally stickered for $154,000, with the wing being a $4,000 option, as is seen on this window sticker for 12691. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great thread. Thanks Joe Has anyone ever retrofitted a 25th Countach with non anniversary body upgrades? Would this even be possible?
That's odd, I usually hear from him in a day or two. Send the info you have to me. I think if we focus we can make out what the history is. If I recall, your car has one of the provisional ID plates as with some special build cars that went to the Middle East. A carb downdraft 25th in Bianco Perlato is indeed nice! Anything is possible, but I think it would be cost-prohibitive. If you look closely at a 25th, its a very specific build in all areas and I dare say it wouldn't make sense. As with this pic from Miura 1, from LP400 to 25th, they all have their special place. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Peter, other than a note about the car being in Texas (do you know about that?), I don't have anything other than "Rosso Siviglia 21517". Is that correct? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Annivesario variant has an impressive array of colors, hopefully we can post some later Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
