During the MY99 production they changed the color of the scripts on the engine. Early MY99 used to have red scripts on engine cover and air intakes and later on maybe from XLA12200 they started with dark blue scripts. After XLA12200 the cars had small changes on the engine too. It´s easy to recognize if it´s a pre- XLA12200 on the exhaust deck lid. Pre cars had the "lamborghini" script on the exhaust deck lid. Later cars had the script on the rear grill and the deck lid was clean. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Leo, The deck lid is around XLA12200 - it was me who did the analysis based on entries for the Diablo SV logged on lp112.com I think the engine cover either changed earlier - before XLA12180?, or you had a choice when you spec'd the car. Here is a very early picture of my car (c. 2002 I believe) for example..Or it was altered by the first owner ? Also note the black bull! One other query that I've just noticed in the same pictures from around 2002, is the bull embossed in the car mats ? was this standard ? It isn't there now, so I presume the mats have been changed. NB. note no radio or amplifier fitted when ordered from factory ;-) Regards David Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi David, Thank you for your clarification and your posting & your knowledge too. I´m happy to get some Diablo SV guys in one place. Yes you´re right the engine cover must be changed a bit earlier as your car has a dark blue skript. I also noticed the bull, but i saw it in different variants. In silver, more gold and like yours in black. I think they choose what they wanted.
There is nothing on the order form I have for my car about the engine cover colouring, so I presume the choice (for the bull colour for example) was made by someone in the factory or was documented only in the factory rather than the dealer order form. just my thoughts.
Great onboard footage out of Zack's car. When people ask me what the 50th Giro was like, I show them this video. Watch it big screen and turn the sound up. It gives me goose bumps everytime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1TkiU1r0Ck
