Ducati is to motorcycles what Ferrari is to cars

And what Beechcraft Bonanzas are to airplanes.

I'm a gear head, basically.

I currently own a properly modernized 1957 Beech Bonanza, a 1992 Ducati SuperLight that I've owned for almost 20 years (series I) that I recently installed Dymag carbon-fiber wheels, a '98 Honda VFR (old reliable) and my third 911 - an '02 996 Cab (I've got about 300K miles on 911s from the 80s, 90s and now the naughts).

I've decided I HAVE to have a 348 Berlinetta. So, I'm here to soak up as much info as I can so I can do a proper pre-purchase in a few years (2018?) and get the right car, not to mention adding my own personal touch.

I've worked on and re-built cars since I was forced into the hobby with my first car, a 1959 MGA when I was 18. The main and rod bearings froze, so I had to take the thing completely apart.

I just got through rebuilding my Ducati 900 engine and it seems eerily close to what I've seen of the 348 engine rebuild. Same timing belt process!
