    Hey Everyone,
Considering selling my factory non-CAT Euro spec GTS ( French Delivery) with approx. 30k miles to help pay for a recent home addition. Car is an original rust free/accident free California Blue Plate car that was purchased from the estate of a friend. The car currently has TRX wheels and tires installed, as well as an Ansa exhaust, but the original 14" wheels and exhaust come with it. Other than that, the only other modification are the QV spoiler, which I was going to remove if I ever had to paint the engine lid, and the side markers that were added back in period. Wonderful driving example with a $6k major service completed in September 2015. Tires, based on age, are the only known items needing replacement that I am aware of. AC is removed and in a box that comes with the car. Classic Red/Black car that comes with books and tools, but only the records for the last eight years that I have owned it. Paint and interior are believed to be original and display an even patina throughout. Price is $75k.

$65k for a dry sump is a STEAL! Not sure who is giving you market advice.

one day, and you do not run for the hills.
Unless there is something wrong with this car, $75k was a fair starting price.
If this is not snatched up today or tomorrow I will be very surprised.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Not over reacting, and nothing wrong with the car, just going off of info I was given regarding the current market. It's all relative and the flexibility in the sale price drops considerably as the asking price drops. Thanks again for the feedback!

Odd to find a 79 with the basket case spoiler, especially a Euro. No big deal, just unusual.

What is the device / cover just northwest (forward) of the oil filter? Just curious.

    GLWS! :):)

GTS cars weren't dry sump, even the Euros.

Euro spec cars came with a heat shield over the distributors.

I literally spent this asking price alone mechanically restoring mine to road-worthiness from the previous owner. For a rust-free non-cat Euro car that's ready to drive and enjoy for summer, this looks like a bargain! Good luck!!!

You're right. Temporary memory lapse. Even still a Euro 308 GTS in good condition should bring more.

Forgive me but I don't understand that. If it is not smogged, then how can it be registered? Or, to put it another way, can a California buyer buy this car and then register it and drive it?

No, a California buyer would not be able to simply register and drive the car without smogging it. Thanks.

It also protects these from rain/water cascading from the engine hood when opening it...

Post-scriptum: can the trainspotters among us ask for the chassis number of the car?

I always figured as much, since I can't imagine what excessive heat would be radiating upward over the coils, but in that case I never understood why US cars didn't get the same treatment. I understand why the Euro cars got a starter heat shield, since they didn't have the US cars' shielded headers, but the coil shield? A mystery.

At any rate, good luck with the sale. Someone's going to get a great deal on a fun toy just in time for summer!

It is a mystery. But given the dizzying array of Rube Goldberg emissions devices on the US cars it's not surprising the difference. :):)
