Finally sourced the right switch and pins from Ferrari for the fuel pump connection. Thanks to Tod Ruoti at Continental Ferrari for sleuthing the parts in the Ferrari electrical catalogue....an invaluable help as always ! Here is a before and after....the car runs perfectly Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It`s actually very good for the owner of this car. Being listed as both a GT and a GTE has got to make this one of the more valuable examples of this car. Regards, Jim
True, but it did race and win the Itailan Gt series as a GT then was converted only partially to GTE specifications (not a full GTE). In the BPR series it ran in a different class that the full version GTE`s. It did then get classified as a GTE but in reality is a Modified GT specifically done in order to make it runable and competitive in the BPR series In any case Officially it is listed as both, but as it had It`s greatest history as a GT thats the way it was marketed in the auctions. Regards, Jim
Is that fourth red car in the picture your old NSX? (OFFTOPIC - Do you have pictures with the group with your old NSX?) And you seem to have the stock wing...what is the black one? Is that an aftermarket wing or a Ferrari option?
Shaan, It is actually my carb'd Boxer, but since you can only see the front headlight assembly in the pic, it does sort of look like the same area on the NSX ! The NSX goes back a few years...that was a great car and I look forward to acquiring another one someday....I packaged off the NSX and Esprit when I bought the CGT, but in hindsight I should have just kept it. I'll see if I can dig up an old pic...
Is has both titles! GT was converted into a GTE (this one without the 'banana' wing as for example Risi's ex Ennea F40GTEs Search for info on GT and GTEs on Fchat: F40 GTE or F40 LM GTE
I see your point but IMO a car can't be two models at once. Since it started life as a GT, and was not fully converted to full GTE specs. While it still may be somewhat of a GTE spec wise, in my eyes it is still a GT....
No you are wrong. Not all GTE's are in bodywork or technical specs the same. 94362 is an F40 GTE. I will ask Kurt today and hope he answers; then the case will be closed 90001 for example started as a CSAI-GT, was upgraded and again upgraded during the years. 74045 started life as a standard/prototype F40 and was converted by Michelotto to LM and in its last racing years into an F40 GTE. Even GTs or GTEs have different descriptions (LM, Corsa, CSAI-GT, GT or GT Evoluzione (GTE))on the buildsheets. It is the Italian way! The owner could specify the mods they wanted. Even today Michelotto modifies F430 GT/GTC 2007 into 2008 specs and can change the buildsheet if they want. At Michelotto you can still order an F40 GT, let say no. 8. If you pay, they build.
Wow! Thanks, haha. I remember seeing those photos a while ago, mixed in with the look of the "motivational" posters...where it said "Supercars - Getting a Higher Education" or something. I remember wishing that was my garage and hoped i'd get to meet you one day. (I saw it a while ago, now i'm running my own business and in school and saving up for my very own NSX!) Thanks again!
Amazing the patience displayed when the contributors stick to the topic at hand and portray true enthusiasm for the sport, no?
