It's not tasty, but it IS functional... Kefir (Plain) and Spirulina. Great proteins (within an hour!) for your anabolic phase. Small amount of honey can be added provided that isn't a highly reactive immunotrigger for you. Ginger for a bite as well.

Crossfit is the isht. Just don't try to keep up with the next guy/girl. I hurt myself last year when I was partnered up on a WOD with a teeny 60 yo woman who push press 150...

If you've a particular gram of protein intake threshold you're trying to attain, be sure to factor in the digestibility of the protein source.

Thanks guys. I completely forgot about Vitamin Shoppe and will be visiting them later- I really don't like GNC and my options where I am aren't too plentiful. My goal is for a good unflavored protein powder and a recovery drink. Any other suggestions for these things, just let me know.

My workouts are going well, but the in-between days are tough because I haven't been using a proper recovery system. Today I woke up exhausted- good thing it's a yoga day :)

Interesting- can you PM me details on measurements?

And I agree on the Xfit. I have heard of too many people getting carried away by competing with the guy next to them and injuring themselves in the process. I'll watch out for the 60 year olds that push press 150 ;)

To taste mostly but I am clinical when taking in post-workout nutrition. I'll just chug it to get it over with and in the system.

I use the Magic/Nutri Bullet large cup. A scoop of spirulina, a scoop of Vanilla Nitrean + (At Large Nutrition) protein powder, and just fill the rest with Kefir. If I don't have any Kefir (cause it's caught on and the price is stupid now) unsweetened almond or soy milk.

Sometimes I will pre-chop some kale and add it in because kale.

HUGE protein (Nitrean is 23g in itself) intake right after = good recovery/build fuel

No affiliation (well once I am certified to practice this supplement will be part of one of my protocols for athletes,) but good product and a very informative study.

Felt pretty good today after a lunchtime workout. We did deadlifts in sets of 8, 6, 4, 2, and 8. The idea is to increase weight on every set except last one where you repeat the same weight you started with. I did 225, 275, 315, 385, and 315. Getting 315 for 8 reps at the ends made me pretty happy, especially since I'm fairly certain I could have done 10 or 11 if I really tried.

TBT, those breaks were costing me a good 30 seconds of ramp up time too but I was hitting the wall.

I said F it and went for it today on my second 5K. I was pulling at a sub 15 min pace, for 6 minutes and going strong, until I rubbed a hole in the back of my heel and had to stop...

    Pissed me off.....

Since I wore holes into my heels on the rower  I am going to bump the swimming up to 5 miles/week for a while. Might be good to change things up anyway?

    Darth great work!

To everyone else keep working on it and hit those goals you set.\

My last two weeks have been possibly the busiest of my life. My diet and habits have gone out the window. I have maintained my weight which is great but have not lost like I planned on.

I'm giving my self about a month to get back on track and continue my weight loss.

My update: weight remains steady at 142, and I absolutely cannot lose anymore. Upper body definition is crazy! I never could have gotten here without a trainer (and countless hours in the gym each week.)

Crushing the baseball like never before. Thank you Mr Marucci for these awesome bats. :)

I've been enjoying my Vega Recovery drink after my workouts. I don't know if it's working to full capacity or if I'm getting much stronger and thus less sore, but I haven't woken up with that complete soreness in a couple weeks now.

So far, I recommend it. Tastes good too. I have yet to try the other drinks recommended. Will report once I do :)
