In an effort not to delay shipping I took the fire extinguisher out. Does anyone in the UK know where I can get one of these? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes these are great suggestions thank you but I'm drawing a bit of a blank so far. Need to keep trying.

Ok just in from the shop. Borrowed a nifty custom bracket from a friend, it was padded and just held on the underside of the bumper with a bolt each side and a wingnut. Can be fitted or removed in one minute for countries that insist on front license plates, which I think are France and Switzerland. Let's be honest here, the car looks way better without it, but I'm fine with this as a temporary solution. I think the pic from the side shows that it is not too low. I was thinking of putting a thin silver frame around it, but if anything that makes the plate look bigger and more noticeable. It's a license plate, it is what it is. As much as the Swiss may require a license plate in the front ( under some circumstances you can get the back one inside the car visible thought the rear window) they would not mind about the format. In other words so long it does not create problems with your home state, you could cut it in a much smaller format to just show the numbers and not this state and motto. I had a French registered E type with numbers on a decal on the bonnet and i was never stopped in 25 years...
I hear you. I figure it's one day of driving in each country so this solution seems pretty quick and easy and I would think assures I'm not getting pulled over on a license plate infraction. Not to say I won't get pulled over for something else!
Mark I think it looks fine. The car is so amazing, I don't think this detracts from anything. As to the extinguisher, it might be the priciest way to go, but maybe just get in contact with a local dealer and have them source it for you? Swing by and pick it up and off you go! I'm sure you can get your own contact, but in case not, LMK if you would like me to ask about a contact in the London area.
Don't speed in Switzerland! They take that very seriously, and when I say don't speed, I mean literally don't go over the speed limit.
But if you do 50 mph ( the out of town speed limit) in hairpin, Julier pass or Maloja, you will be a local hero ,,,or 1000 feet down the mountain...real issue is in town ( actually within the limits of the municipality) with speed limits of 30 mph with from time to time 20 or even 10 mph,,those respect very carefully because locals hate fast cars and after a while would call local police,,and then you are in trouble. And of course you can have children, animals, old people going out. And remember in Switzerland pedestrians have absolute priority when approaching zebra crossings. This is the only country in the world where people don't even look if a car is approaching, so confident they are the car will stop. If you don't stop and hit one, you will discover the luxury of Swiss prison hospitality ,,so this is not NY where pedestrian are fighting to cross against the traffic.
On my screen YB Racing say they are ex-stock so I imagine the 3-5 weeks is to your US address - Demon Tweeks are also showing similar ex-stock "CBB/351 OMP HAND HELD ALUMINIUM FIRE EXTINGUISHER 2.4 LITRES 4kg WHITE COLOUR REF: OMP-CBB/351 IN STOCK DISPATCH IN 1-2 DAYS " http://www.ybracing.com/omp-cbb351-hand-held.html
The Swiss drive like nutters [ or Italians] on the motorways, especially the vans. They only seem to slow down when entering tunnels. I was shocked how aggressive they were earlier this year! I was in my F12 doing the speed limit with heavy traffic and a van 10ft from my back side. I thought they would be calm how wrong was I! France you don't need to speed as its so open and not too many cars and 80 mph limit on motorways if its not raining. I would save your speeding for Italy, but you still have to be carful. Buy the pre paid motor way tickets for each country, it saves a lot of stress and hassle. The toll booths are a nightmare in a low car, and there are not many that have a human in for change any more. If you want I can send you my pass for Switzerland as I won't be needing it again this year, you might have to stick it back on with something assuming I can get it off ok? If you need a Chateau near Reims I can recommend one? Have a great time, I loved my trip to the factory and MM this year
The Swiss vignette ( yearly motorway tax) has to be fixed on windshield either top center or left side bottom (!? Very precise) and cannot be taken away as it breaks in pieces if you try. You will be forced to buy one when passing the border through highway ( I assume Basel if coming from France) and cannot remember exact pricing but it is around 50 USD ( I have 5 Swiss registered cars so the mechanic put them and charges me..).
As Bria says, I tried to take it off this morning and it is made to break if you try to remove it. Don't forget you might need a few Swiss Franc's for general use and also the title to the car if you get stopped.
