Any of you local guys remember a white Countach here in Tyler in the late'80's or early '90's? I had seen it on one occasion. I heard it had been abandoned and it seemed that there was even a picture of it on Ferrarichat at one time.

The only "older" Countach I was familiar with was a Black on Tan with Gold wheels 5000QV injected car from '86~'88.

The owner had a place near Tyler and had a business in Dallas, IIRC.

He showed it at one of the first car shows in Harvey Hall in the mid/late '90s.

I have seen a Red Anniversary CT at Bill Day Tire in the last six months, though. I forgot about that one. Ask Dave, he'll tell you if there are any more he knows of in Tyler.

No F-cars but a couple of others worth mentioning. Fairly new black Viper on Rice Rd. this evening. It had custom wheels. Just before that at Golden and Hwy. 110 was an original 1967 Shelby Cobra 427. The doctor driving it bought it in the early seventies for around $7,000. Not a bad investment. There are several replicas in town, but his is the real deal. He also has a 1972 Pantera and a 1956 Porsche speedster among others.

On I-20 between Lindale and Canton this morning, I saw a yellow Murcielago followed by a new 911tt. The Porsche was a neon blue, beautiful. First time I have seen a Murci on the road.

Which way were the Lambo and P-car going?

I've seen that BRG Bentley in town, too.

Seems to be parked in front of Santo Chiropractic (who drives a tracked-out Z-06) in the Woodcreek Center alot.

That is, if it's the same BRG Bentley Arnage; IIRC, there was a Dr. Watson in Jacksonville who had his for sale here recently.

They were headed east. They were probably 15 miles west of Tyler. I have also seen a green Bentley in front of Brosangs on occasion. I think it was the same one.

Yes, it is true. I spotted a grey 328 at our clubhouse and ended up going for a drive.

It was Friday afternoon, I finished having dinner with my father-in-law at Hideaway Lake Golf Club in Lindale when, as we were walking to the parking lot I spotted a gorgeous grigio 328 GTS with the most immaculate tan interior I'd seen on a 20+ year old car. Anyway, I had to get a photo or two and didn't have my camera. My F-I-L took me home and I immediately jumped into my car with the Nikon and blazed a trail through the strict 25mph streets of HAWL. Upon my return, I was happy to have the perfect setting to get some good shots of what is the most istantly recognizeable Ferrari in a most rare color. I initially thought Tillman was paying a visit to someone here, but the details were a tad different on this car.

After taking some pics, a very nice gentleman and his wife emerged from the clubhouse and introduced themselves to me. Dr. Ken C. from Dallas was at the beginning of a road trip with his lovely wife and had stopped by to visit relatives. He could certainly sense my enthusiasm for the marque and we had a nice chat about the car when he graciously offered me a drive!! I was ecstactic, having not even sat in a Ferrari in several years, it was a treat to explore this cars nature. We took out onto the Interstate and back (south) along the twisties of 110 North back to 849 and then back to HAWL. What sweet music that engine produces!! I was completely immersed in the noise of the induction, cams and exhaust with the top removed. It was the nearest thing to Heaven that I've had the opportunity to experience lately. I am forever grateful to Dr. C for allowing me the pleasure of feeling the excitement and passion of Ferrari from the driver's seat!!

White Gallardo Spider at Clear Springs this afternoon. Sweet looking car. Also, blue/silver Viper with some kind of custom aluminum spoiler on the rear.

I did spot a silver newer-body Viper conv. on the Loop then to 155 S. this morning in the rain.

Maybe the Ferraris will come back out when the weather clears!!

Red Maserati Gransport coupe northbound on Old Troup Hwy/Beckham in front of GABC this morning.

Looked very nice and was a little dirty from being driven!!!

Put me in a good mood :)

A lot of Maserati's lately. I saw a black Maserati Gransport around noon today on Sunnybrooke at Old Jacksonville. Those cars in used condition are pretty reasonable.

    You won't regret it.

We (Tyler) need more driven exotics.

My 355 should be here in the next two weeks.

    Very interesting spot this afternoon.

I was heading to Big Sandy via 155 (north if I-20), when, in Winona (of all places) I was met with a flatbed carrying a beautiful red 360 spider southbound.

It looked like (given the location) it may have been heading toward I-20 to see Mr. Patterson or another (lesser) Ferrari specialist.

VERY unusual to see Ferraris out here in the sticks. :(

I will happily tear these roads up as soon as my 355 lands!!!!

If the owner of said 360 is here, be sure to PM me. We can go for a spirited drive very soon!! :D

Today I saw the Silver Maserati QP on S. Broadway.

Looked like any prior damage had been repaired.

Then the bottom fell out of the sky and I was glad to be in my Disco.

At Starbucks on south loop today, I saw a 1973 Ferrari Dino. Talked to the owner and sat in it. I had never seen one of these on the road before. He went to start it but it would not crank. I had to jump it off. Beautiful car. Also, black viper with side pipes on south loop.

Great looking car. The 355 has always been one of my favorites. By the way, what is that place in the first photo? I have always seen Porsches there. I thought it was some kind of garage.

    Thanks,

The place in the photo is my friend, Bill Murillo's shop.
I had the car delivered to him because my wife was having surgery in Dallas the day the car arrived. He works on Porsches, but will likely be doing my regular oil services, as he knows the dry-sump systems so well.

We are going to be showing the car at the cruise night this Thursday (12th) at Whataburger on S. Broadway.

My friend with the Lotus and a few others I know will be attending/showing their cars that night, too.

Come out and introduce yourself, there aren't that many F-chatters in Tyler. You will certainly catch the bug!!
