We didn't talk about it much here but Jaguar announced the death of the C-X75 today. I'm only disappointed because I wanted to see if people would really spend that much money on a car with a 1.6L engine. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/jaguar-c-x75-will-not-be-produced-2012-12-11 >8^) ER
Really doesnt surprise me they killed it. They were day dreaming with that price tag and the direction the company has taken lately. The new Jags do not look good. And they dont look like Jags. The XF and XJ could be korean..The XK is getting old and the F Type is average looking. Certainly not as hot as the original F type concept. I also noticed i only see XKs...never do i see an XF or XJ around.
Same way our friends in Maranello measure it. Main diference IMO is TTV8 vs V12. Both P1 and F70 are impressive weight wise considering they both have KERS. Sad about Jag stoping their supercar program. It's VERY hard to sell 1MM euro + hypercars today. I think it's fair to say that 918 sales are less than hoped and I'll be impressed if P1 sales reach 500. Ferrari should easily sell out their 500 but it's getting interesting out there. Personally I've thought a Hard Rains Going to Fall for a while and while I've not yet been right there's more than a touch of cool air coming from the North... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xq1q9k_bob-dylan-a-hard-rain-s-a-gonna-fall-1964_music
If the Ferrari (legitimately) comes in lighter than the McLaren I'll eat my shoe. As I am not 100% sure I am right, I will now begin shopping for edible shoes. But seriously - I just don't see how that would be possible with the addition of KERS. If they match the weight of the Enzo that will be an achievement. Bill S measured one at 3,265 lbs with a full fuel tank, then subtracted the weight of that fuel for 3,083 lbs. >8^) ER
Yes because the last new weight will be equal to that of the enzo IE ~ 1250 klg (2755 lbs) dry You have other info?
Which is exactly what Ferrari's presentation slide says it will weigh. The lower weight numbers were Internet BS. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=141948772&postcount=179
The Enzo dry on a good day is NO where near 2755lb as anyone who's weighed one knows. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138738318&postcount=10
The data are always different between the constructor and the reality, I do not know how is it possible. I'm really looking forward to discover the difference in weight between the p1 and enzo I think that ferrari will surprise us the show say long...
It is possible because the constructor (Ferrari) is known for not always telling the truth. How many Enzo owners are really going to put their car on scales - maybe 1%? >8^) ER
+ 1. I wouldn't spend much time looking for those shoes. Just looking at the P1 and Ferrari's test mule, it appears that the P1 is considerable shorter. McLaren's "shrink wrap" design has limited both vehicle overhang dimension from the axle centers. If these weight savings details are a consistent theme throughout the total design, Ferrari will have their work cutout big time.
Oh, ****, that one looked more interesting that all the "my-dad´s-car-is-faster-than-your-dad´s-car" discussed in this thread. And looked better too. And it´s a pity that they couldn´t make the turbine engine work.
P1 was shown at a private event in Miami last evening. I was not in attendance but Motorsport.com photographer Eric Gilbert was and he captured some great shots. car sounds crappy - turbocharger is a bad idea for hypercar http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5Ml1DeEEhXM .
